Personal Philosophy of Education

I am choosing this profession because I want to serve new generations. Being a teacher

will give me a wonderful opportunity each day to help develop every important aspect of a

child's future. I want students to become the best they can be in order for them to become a asset

in this world. I want my students to know that they are important and treat them as an individual,

not just as a number. I inspire myself because I know that I have the ability and motivation that

can change someone's life. I am eager to make a change as a teacher. During my high school

experience, I had a math teacher for who made me believe that good teachers still exist. He was

the best teacher I had during my school years as he was so passionate to teach. A teacher like that

can have a big impact on students. It impacted me to the point that I still remember most of his

teachings today. He inspires me because I want to be like him: passionate everyday to teach my

students what they need to learn rather than simply give them busy work. I am a responsible,

caring and loving individual who wants to give best of myself to my pupils. During my

observation, I noticed that a teacher can make learning either fun or boring. I understand that a

teacher sets the example in classroom by being respectful toward students and vise versa. Rules

in the classroom are very important because it keeps everyone in control of their behavior.

Mr. White, the teacher I worked during my observation, was open to any questions asked by

students and engaged everyone in daily classroom discussions. I will surely use many of the

teaching skills I have learned during my observation in my future teaching career.

I believe in strong education. An education can change your ways of thinking and opens

doors to better opportunities in life. My education philosophy is essentialism and progressivism.

I want my students to master the curriculum in order for them to successfully move to the next

grade level. I believe that if they learn all the content, writing, reading, math the more chances

they will have to succeed in their educational journey. I know that each student has their own

learning styles, and be knowledgeable of my qualities to teach them in a more productive ways.

For me it is very important to see them progress, advance to the next level, and succeed.

Digital era or the millennium the historical event that has impacted the way I think about

children and schools. Technology has made a major impact on children and school as it can be

both, an advantage, as well as a disadvantage, if not used responsibly and intelligently. Through

history things change all of the time and I understand that today is digital era and we do not

know what tomorrow has in store. I, as teacher, need to be alert and well educated of the most

updated technology and events.

I want my students to be comfortable in the classroom, feel safe, have fun, be

responsible and most importantly learn what they need. I do not want my students to just be

sitting down doing silent reading or doing individual work instead I want to give them different

opportunities to learn. I would like everyone to participate and be engaged during the day.

each student, and to better help them reach their full potential. One of my goals is to discover

every students learning styles. Also receiving my education here in the US, and being a CCSD

employee, has given me knowledge and experience with student diversity, variability and

assessments that student need. I believe that all of these life experiences had made me more

knowledgeable of many situations I may be exposed during my future career.

More than anything the characteristics I will need is to be a successful instructor are

professionalism, well mannered, be comprehensiveness, tolerance, patience, have integrity, and

good ethics. I want set good examples for my students that will keep me on track to becoming

wonderful teacher. In order to become highly qualified, I will be expected to have a minimum of

a bachelor's degree in education. First, I will have to finish my associates degree and second,

pass the praxis core exam test that consists of reading, writing, and math. Finally, I will work on

my bachelors degree and pass part two of the praxis exam. I have learned that a career is hard

work to accomplish, but with determination and perseverance, I can accomplish it. After

finishing my associates degree, I will work as a substitute to get more experience in the class and

learn more. Being a substitute will give me more chance to focus on my future profession, and

will give me more time for me to continue with my education. I think this is a great opportunity

for me to advance in my future profession by putting into practice all of the knowledge I have

gained in my education. Once I am finished with my bachelors degree, I will have accomplished

my greatest goal in my professional life. It will give me security and high self esteem. I will be

one more teacher that can be a hero in a classroom. After teaching for several years, I will also

like to advance to different positions for example, Assistant principal or principal, but in order

for that, I need to start from the bottom of the ladder and work my way up. Most off all, I want to

prepare my students of being a innovative citizen of the world.
