The teacher will collect data on which students pointed to
an area on the map and data on where the student pointed
to on the map.
Program Monitoring: (How will you aggregate or
compile your evidence into a class or group view? Give
specific numeric data.)
The teacher will use a class list to make a check
mark for the students who pointed to an area on
the globe. The teacher would also record where
the students pointed to and use a color system to
record the locations and show a correlation
between the responses.

Procedural steps:
1. The teacher will begin by asking student
what they know about maps and the
globe.
2. The teacher will record the answers on a
white board or large notebook paper.
3. The teacher will move into instruction on
different areas where fossils are found
(Dorset, UK; Ohio, USA; Nangetty,
Australia; Zigong, China; Borre,
Denmark).
4. The teacher will point to each location on
the globe, as well as recording on a white
board or large notebook paper
5. The teacher will ask each child to
individually come up to the globe and
point to a location where fossils are
found.
6. The teacher will record each student’s
response.

going over the locations of where fossils
are found one last time.
