Standard 2-C.4.2- Determine if the presentation has a logical introduction, body, and
conclusion.
Description: This app lesson will develop English language arts assessments for
students’ story elements and sequencing knowledge.
Students will be able to name the main characters and establish the setting of the story.
Students will be able to describe the events that took place in the story in detail.
Step 1 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will log onto the Homer app and
access stories with story elements. This app includes interactive lessons; therefore, they
are able to analyze the parts of the story. Many different free, kid friendly, stories are
available. Students will write down which story they are using and label the story
elements, in which order they occurred.

Step 2 Content-Based or Skill-Based App: Students will log onto the read theory app so
I can assess their lexile score. The students will be able to send me their results when
they are done with assessment. After, finding out their lexile scores students will know
which grade level they are reading on and which reading group they are in.

Step 3 Creation-Based (Learning Artifact) Students will log onto the Little story
creator app and make their own story. Students will use appropriate vocabulary on their
lexile. They will then have to list the story elements on sheet of paper and the students
will be designing the sequencing of their story. The students will screenshot a page of
their story and send it to me so I can check their progress.
