ABSTRACT
Lands – Vizianagaram District – Payment of ex-gratia to assigned land holders and
petitioners in W.P. No. 23148/2018 whose lands were resumed for the purpose of
establishment of Green Field International Airport at Bhogapuram in terms of
G.O.Ms.No.259, Revenue (Assignment.I) Department, dated. 21-06-2016 and as per orders
of the Hon'ble High Court in W.P. No. 23148/2018, dated 23.10.2018 - Orders – Issued.

ORDER:-
In the reference 1st read above, the District Collector, Vizianagaram has reported
that, aggrieved by the payment of ex-gratia amount, some of the Ryots of Kancheru Village
whose assigned lands comes under the alignment of Bhogapuram International Green Field
Airport have approached the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad and filed Writ
Petition No.23148/2018. The Writ Petition No.23148/2018 was disposed by Hon’ble High
Court in its order dated 23.10.2018 directing the respondents to pay Rs.28,00,000/-
(Rupees Twenty Eight Lakhs only) per acre to each of the Petitioners, whose assigned
lands in Kancheru Village have been resumed for the Bhogapuram International Airport,
within six weeks. Till the said compensation is paid, the respondents shall not put the
subject land to use for the Airport. Accordingly, while furnishing a detailed report in the
matter, the District Collector, Vizianagaram has requested the Government to take a
decision on payment of ex-gratia to assigned land holders as per orders of Hon'ble
High Court in Writ Petition No.23148/2018, dated 23.10.2018.
2. In the reference 2nd read above, while enclosing the report of District Collector, the
Energy, Infrastructure & Investment Department has requested to take further action on the
proposal of the District Collector, Vizianagaram.
3. After careful examination of the matter, Government hereby order for payment of
ex-gratia to assigned land holders and petitioners whose lands were resumed for the
purpose of establishment of Green Field International Airport at Bhogapuram in terms of
G.O.Ms.No.259, Revenue (Assignment.I) Department, dated. 21-06-2016 and as per orders
of the Hon'ble High Court in W.P. No. 23148/2018, dated 23.10.2018.
4. The District Collector, Vizianagaram District and the MD, Andhra Pradesh Airport
Development Corporation Limited, AP, Vijayawada shall take necessary action accordingly.
