Graduate Teaching Assistant in the PMTE program. Duties include conducting a piece in a collegiate choir, recording
evidence of my progress, setting up and taking down the room, setting up and taking down risers for concerts, and
making a commitment to come to every rehearsal. Graduate Teaching Assistants are also in charge of substituting choirs
when the director isn’t available, making extra copies of music, and dedicating time outside of rehearsal to practicing
and improving conducting.

Company: Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Franklin K-8 January 2019-May 2019
City: Corvallis State/Province: OR Position: Choir Teacher

Approved to start a choir at Franklin K-8 in Corvallis, OR in October 2018. This process included writing a letter for
approval of the program, budgeting for sheet music, uniforms, and an accompanist. Created a sign-up form with an
events calendar, set up and reserved a concert in May, and gathered resources such as repertoire and sight-reading
packets to be taught in choir. Collaborated with the principal and the president of the Franklin PTA for program approval.
Designed marketing and promotional materials, such as posters and announcements about the choir, and signing and
setting up secondary legal contracts. The choir meets twice a week before school, 7:20am-7:50am.

Company: The Arc of Benton County City: Corvallis State/Province: OR June 2017-Present
Position: Music Teacher

Serve as the music specialist and teacher for the Arc of Benton County every Wednesday from 3:30-5:00pm. The Arc
provides fine arts opportunities for special needs citizens across the spectrum. Founded the choral program SingSquad at
The Arc of Benton County, and have funds allocated to music materials and performances. This position was formerly a
two-year grant, which was extended due to exemplary performance from the music classroom.

Company: Heart of the Valley Children’s Choir September 2010-July 2014


City: Corvallis State/Province: OR Position: Student Director

Acted as a student director, the section's success was one of the main goals, and a student director was expected to
know all of the music from memory as well as chaperone children during parent promotional events, camp retreats, and
independent sectionals. Student directors needed to show up for work by 6:00pm Monday and Tuesday night, and end
their shift when the rehearsals ended at 9:00pm.

Highlights:
 Experience student teaching Elementary students at Jefferson Elementary School, evidenced by logged
practicum and student teaching hours
 Experience writing grants, program approvals, budgeting sheets, syllabi, event dates, and a choral department
handbook for the middle school choir, evidenced by Choir Teaching position at Franklin K-8.

 Am current member of OSU’s Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA)
 Entered OSU’s top ensemble, Chamber Choir, as only one in seven sophomores, the lowest possible level a person can
enter in Chamber Choir, out of forty-one total participants.
 At the age of 17, during my musical career in Heart of the Valley Children's Choir, I had written my very own musical
composition titled, “Agnus Dei.” The composition included accurate pitches and notation, as well as a very equal and
beautiful blend of each part. Carol Nelson, the choral director of Heart of the Valley Children's Choir asked me to
make copies for the choir to sing. My choral piece was presented at the United Methodist Church in Corvallis, Oregon
in March of 2014, during the choir's annual winter concert. “Agnus Dei” is now available on YouTube, under the video
name, "Agnus Dei by San Giovanni."
