POSITIONS AND PROCEDURES




Nomination, Selection, Approval and Appointment Procedure Overview

• Each year, IEEE Canada (Region 7, R7) conducts a democratic and transparent nomination and
appointment process for various positions listed below.
• Call for nominations is announced by email in due time before the R7 Fall Board Meeting Series.
• Nominations are submitted to the R7 Nominations and Appointment Committee (NAC).
• All the nominations are reviewed by R7 NAC.
• Recommended candidates are submitted for approval to the R7 Steering Committee.
• The approved candidates are finally presented for approval by the IEEE Canada Fall Board
Meeting.
• The approved candidates are appointed by the IEEE Canada President.

3. IEEE Canada West Area (Chair)

Note: The Area Chairs are elected by the corresponding IEEE Canada Area Section Chairs at the Fall
Board Meeting Series, and appointed by the IEEE Canada President.

1. Women in Engineering (WIE) (Chair; Vice Chair; Members)
2. Young Professionals (YP) (Chair; Vice Chair; Members)
3. Student Activities Committee (SAC) (Chair; Vice Chair; Members;
Regional (R7) Student Representative (RSR); and Vice RSRs)

Note: The Member Services Group Chair is elected from among the current Chairs and past-Chairs of
