3. Beginning-Middle-End game: use CVC cards and bingo board with letters for beginning sound, challenge M/P to sound out CVC word and
try to figure out end sound as well
4. Conversation: He/She – pick Lego person and take turns reading sight word sentence about a Lego friend has. Student with Lego
answers the question. (i.e. Is he blue? No, he is yellow.)
Wednesday
1. Sight word review
2. Sight word game with numbers (game board with numbers in the squares and cards with numbers written out) (include numbers that
Junior knows and the number of the week)
3. Vocabulary he/she take turns pointing to person at that table and asking someone “Who is he?” Other person replies “He is Junior.”
4. Build a sentence activity with individualized sentences
Thursday
1. Sight word review
2. Vocabulary CVC picture cards
3. Rhyming books to build and read rhyming words
4. Conversation: Read “Rocket Can Read” again. After reading, randomly turn to page and have students take turns asking each other
questions about what they see on the page.
Friday
1. Sight word review
2. Sight word game: draw card, read word, and go find same word in area of classroom
3. Vocabulary/Conversation: Have girl/boy Lego figures, pile of action cards (looking, seeing, jumping, running, playing). Students pick Lego
and card and say appropriate sentence. (I.e. He is jumping.)
4. Read new teacher story: “Bear on Wheels”
