WORKING TOGETHER: ACHIEVING RESULTS

Dear Resident,
For the last four years we have been privileged to serve as your local representatives on North
Somerset Council and Weston Town Council. During that time, we have helped many residents with their
queries and concerns, whether raised to us directly or at our monthly surgeries.

Current issues on which we are taking action include:

Parking
Inconsiderate parking is creating frustration for residents across South Worle, particularly in West Wick,
Weston Village, around Worle station and our local schools. All of the issues identified locally will be consid-
ered by North Somerset Council through the summer. We will continue to push for traffic regulation orders
to be raised and appropriate solutions to be implemented to alleviate the problems.
Dog Fouling
Extra Council officers are being trained by the Police to help enforce Public Space Protection Orders; these
will help in ensuring that owners clear up any mess made by their dogs. In addition, Weston Town Council
has installed more dog waste bins in the area.
Litter and Fly Tipping
Again, through the use of Public Space Protection Orders, Council officers can increase monitoring of hot
spots and issue on the spot fines. We have passed information about problems on to officers as we have been
made aware of them.
Summer Lane Flooding
We continue to work with council officers on the delivery of this scheme. Although it has been a little late in
starting, it remains on track for completion in the autumn.
Play Areas
The Town Council has introduced a new maintenance programme to cover all 22 play areas managed by
the council. This will include any new areas taken over from developers to ensure that they are kept to a
high standard.

If re-elected we will continue to listen to residents’ concerns and do our best to make sure both North

Somerset and Weston Town Council take the appropriate actions to resolve them.
