Appendix 2: Lesson Reflection

(Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Who is the lesson for?
The lesson for KG2 students, a class has 25 smart students that they excited to learn different
things during the lesson.

Where did the lesson take place?


I teach this lesson on 19.3.2019 at 9:00 in Al Dewan KG School in the classroom.

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?


Teacher try to help student to know sound of letter z and how they write it on air and know new
vocabulary (zoo, zookeeper, zero, and zipper).

What did the students do?


I started the lesson to remind students about class rules of classroom. Teacher ask student to set
nicely and follow her directions and she start song to put a alphabet song then she read story for
them about letter z. Teacher let students to repeat the vocabulary (zoo, zookeeper, zero, and
zipper) with her to be able to say a sound of letter z. Student has wrote the vocabulary on their
notebook and draw (zoo, zookeeper, zero, and zipper). Teacher ask student to go to their canters
and she ask me to took one group to do my activity. Some student in centre have to color letter z
and stick images them draw their favourite animal and some of them have use their hand to draw
zebra. I fours with last activity that I created activity the student have to create their own zoo
and write words they took in class today (zoo, zookeeper, zero, and zipper).
Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
I used different things to take their attention like class dojo, stickers,
stamps and cartoon pencils. I let them work as a groups and discus before
they answer.

How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
First time I worried if they don’t know numbers and they will have a
hard time to learn addition but when I showed them a ( + ) they know what they have to do, I
wrote some questions on board and them answers correctly. I think that they were known about
addition and numbers until 20.

How well did you engage the students?


I engage by show them images and challenge them to do a zoo they prepare for them to do a
zoo with some new vocabulary zoo, zookeeper and zipper. Student have to cut Ingres if zoo,
zookeeper and zipper and stick it on the paper then write each word.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective:-
Students shows me that they had a great day during the lesson. During activities, they told me
that they want to try all the activities.

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?


I do my best to catch what they have to learn. I watch different videos to learn how I will teach
this lesson for this age because it is first time to teach KG students.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
I will let them find some words with letter z and ask them to put the words on sentence.

What are the implications for your professional practice?


I feel excited to teach them I asked myself a lot what I do to let students understand lesson, but
I ask my teacher in the school to let me try to teach them English lessons and I learn from my
mistakes and try to change it. In my opinion, I have to practice many times.
