descriptions listed for this job, I am excited to see the skills I have been learning and
implementing through my library science undergraduate degree align with the requirements. I
appreciate the emphasis put on connecting patrons with resources through their environment,
discovering new information, and growing as a result for lifelong learning and enjoyment.

As a library science major pursuing an education degree, I have created various lesson plans for
Kindergarten through 12th grade. Leading and assisting with children and teen programs and
classes and creating library educational activities and lesson plans, which would further engage
these practical skills of supporting children’s growth through informative yet exciting
presentations.

I also have knowledge on the Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress systems from other
library work experience with shelving materials. Understanding the importance of shelving
resources accurately and efficiently is crucial for patrons who need to locate information.

library media specialist area and advocate for the library’s importance because of the skills I
have.
