What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to help us see Macbeths theme in today’s society. We wrote this
essay to compare Macbeths theme in the play and to relate it to today’s society. The purpose of this writing
assignment was to help me understand and gather information about corruption of power in today’s time and
compare it to back then.
How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
Based on the rubric I did pretty well on this writing assignment. I revised it and highlighted all of my
changes, there were simple mistakes constantly made but I did make some changes. The parts I fixed were
little mistakes such as using proper grammar and repetitive words.
What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I did well on knowing what information to focus on gathering and what to write about. I gathered a lot of
information; I used many quotes from the articles I read and gave good examples based on my topic. I related
Macbeths theme to today’s society using many examples of corruption of power, such as corruption in the
media and the way people with authority abuse their power over others.
Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?
I chose to revise this assignment because it’s something that was very interesting to me and taught me things
that I wasn’t aware of before. It’s helped me be more open minded and has shown me the way that some
people abuse their power and don’t use it for the greater good. There wasn’t much to change but I made
some changes and revised my work since the first time I finished this writing assignment.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
For my next writing assignment, I hope to put in the same effort and to make it as good as this one. The only
thing I want to change is I don’t want to procrastinate so that my work isn’t rushed and so more effort can be
put into it.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I did pretty good on my previously stated goals. I created a well formatted essay and have spent lots of time
revising to make it better. I met all of the requirements and stated what was asked. I gathered lots information
and used many quotes and hope to do the same for the next writing assignment.
