To Whom It May Concern:

I am very pleased and honored to write a recommendation for Jacob Tucker for an administrative
position in your school district. Jacob is completing his Master of Science plus Initial
Administrative Licensure at Portland State University. Jacob will complete his degree in July
2019. I have known Jacob for just under a year, but in this short amount of time I have been able
to see his passion for becoming a school administrator. I serve as the Program Coordinator,
Cohort Leader and University Supervisor; these roles have provided me with ample opportunities
to collaborate, engage and observe Jacob as he is pursuing his degree.

Jacob is reflective, principled and an inquirer. He has spent the past seven years teaching
elementary school in four school districts the last three years in Forest Grove; providing him
with a variety of mentors and school leaders to learn from. He is a dependable team leader and
player. His good judgment and mature outlook ensure a logical and practical approach to his
endeavors. He works alongside his colleagues; being flexible and making decisions in the best
interest of all students.

Since July 2018, Jacob has become steeped in learning first-hand the roles and responsibilities of
an elementary administrator including stepping in for the Dean of Students where he has utilized
restorative justice practices with students. He has also taken the lead on researching and
analyzing data as it pertains to creating a more inclusive daily schedule for students. Jacob has
volunteered on several committees that focus on supporting students; he advocates for all
students through an equity lens. Jacob understands the importance of building a positive culture
with staff, students and the community.

It is clear to me as I hope it is to you that this innovative, passionate, and equity focused leader
Jacob Tucker would be considered for an administrative position in your school district. I
wholeheartedly recommend him.
