NEW: inLab 3D for abutments V3.65

Users of the current inLab 3D software (version 3.60) can download ‘inLab 3D for
abutments’ (version 3.65) free of charge.

System requirements:
inLab 3D software (version 3.60 or higher). An MC XL milling unit is required if the
mesostructures are to be milled in-house.

Installation instructions:
Download the file inLab_3D_for_abutments_V3_65.zip from the download section of
the Sirona website (file size: approx. 350 MB).
Unpack the zip file (e.g. with winzip).
Double-click setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

Please note that this version is not fully compatible with inLab 3D V3.60. Initially, the
data will be downloaded to the MC XL milling unit. As from November, this will be
rectified by means of a patch (V3.65) for the existing inLab 3D software.

Important note for CAMLOG® users:

The scanbodies for CAMLOG® (REF. 62 31 794) must not be used with the new
V3.65! The position of the implant will not be correctly acquired. These scanbodies
should be used exclusively with V3.10.
Two new scanbodies are available for V3.65:
REF
Scanbodies for CAMLOG® S 62 82 615
36 pcs. for single use only
compatible with D3.3, D3.8, D4.3
designed exclusively for use with inLab 3D for Abutments V3.65 or higher!

Scanbodies for CAMLOG® L 62 82 623

36 pcs. for single use only
compatible with D5.0, D6.0
designed exclusively for use with inLab 3D for Abutments V3.65 or higher!

Restorations which have been designed using V3.10 cannot be opened and milled
using V3.65.

Overview of the most important new features compared with version 3.10:
„ Modified scanning process
Before performing the scan (e. g. with the aid of the inEos scanner), the titanium
base is screwed into the laboratory model. The enclosed scan body for TiBase
(scanbodies for CAMLOG® must be ordered separately) is then attached.
The scanbodies should be used only once.

„ Additional implant systems

Other makes of implant are now catered for – i.e. in addition to CAMLOG®. These
can be selected in the “New” dialogue under “Implant type”. Sirona supplies the
necessary titanium bases under the brand name “TiBase” (see below).
„ New “implant tooth database” design mode
The “mesostructure” design mode available in V3.10 remains unchanged in V3.65.
A new feature is the “implant tooth database”. In this mode, the user selects a fully
contoured restoration in the tooth database. This restoration can then be adapted
using the familiar tools available in the inLab 3D software. With the aid of the
parameter settings, the user can reduce the size of the restoration in line with
specific requirements.
1st possibility: placement of a crown on the mesostructure
Following the selection of the telescope angle and shoulder width, the system
reduces the restoration and proposes a mesostructure which is optimally adapted
to the planned crown. In the milling preview, the user can export the crown (menu
bar: Design -> Abutment crown) to the inLab 3D software and then initiate the
milling process.
2nd possibility: direct veneering of the mesostructure
As is the case in the inLab 3D software, the restoration is reduced by a predefined
factor, thus enabling the mesostructure to be veneered directly. In this case, the
dentist has to seal the screw channel, e.g. with composite.
In both cases, the user can determine whether the preparation margin of the
mesostructure is located subgingivally or supragingivally and whether or not
pressure is exerted on the gingiva.

„ Transfer of the emergence profile of the gingival mask

Three image windows are available in the “implant tooth database” design mode:
“Preparation”; “Gingival mask”; and “Antagonist”. Via the gingival mask window,
the user has the option of acquiring images of the gums. In this case, the
scanbody should be removed. It is also possible to copy images from the
preparation window to the gingival mask window.
If images are present in the gingival mask window, the emergence profile of the
mesostructure is calculated on the basis of the relevant surface data.
