Research Proposal

In this research project I will be arguing how different it is to be a woman in politics in

comparison to men. I am a first year student in the Masters in Business of Administration Five

Year Program. My experiences being a woman in that program has already equipped me to

know the hardships and tribulations that will come with it. My main concentration is between

Marketing and Accounting, yet I'm still trying to figure out what is the suitable concentration

that will fit with my aspirations, while my current focus is on marketing. A question that you

might have reading this is, “how does business correlate to unequal opportunities in politics?”

Well, the answer for that question matriculates that business and politics correlate in the essense

of the structure. For example, politics and civic actions factor in many business ventures, affairs,

relationship as reciprocated. Thus, you have to know the legislations and regulation of politics to

thrive in business industry.

In the MBA program, there’s a diverse multitude of woman, yet we fail to outnumber the

male associates. Nowadays, many women are thriving in many areas that are specifically titled as

“men” jobs. Recently, there has been a study by ‘Essence Magazine’, stating that

African-American women are voted as the most success and paramount business-oriented

entrepreneurs in the business diaspora. Yet, this doesn’t shutter the eminent imbalance of

opportunities that women are “robbed from gaining.” Especially in politics, there has been a

“record-breaking” number of women prospering in all fields of political demographics. My goal

of this research paper is to showcase the stigma of women being seen as inferior in politics. With

project #3, I will be going into depth about the stigma men have towards women in politics. I

will be using journals and articles such as “Status of Women in Politics” by Thanikodi Sugirtha

and “Do Women in Politics Face a Double Standard?” From the new york times and many more

to support my claim. This is important because women are equally capable of being in charge

and putting into place laws as men. While there has been a recent wave of women attacking the

politic force it’s still not the ratio we want to see. While talking about the direction of this paper

and why this is important to discuss these issues that are clear to see. This paper will also be a

“call to action” highlighting the severities of how these practices negatively affect a large

population. It's a plausible cause that should be discussed to break the stigmatism of women’s

treatment and praise in politic globally.
