How has the development of

 After sending out surveys and doing a focus group , I have decided to do a
documentary about how the technological advancement has effected
todays communication style , and to ultimately pose a question to the
audience of – Has the technological shift caused more harm that good.
MY FINAL Today, through social media , we are all exposed to risks such as cyber
bullying, radicalisation , or online grooming . These are all dangers that
previous generations never had to encounter , because they simply
IDEA and couldn't . I want to explore all of the positives and negatives that the
advancement has had on todays generation, and the potential impacts it
TARGET could have to future generations. I plan to interview David Johnson, who
was on the first skype team, members of the public to see what their views
are , and also a media proffessor from brighton university. Aswell as
AUDIENCE including proffessional interviews, I want to primarily focus on using
members of the public interviews as I feel that this will be the most
relatable for the audience. My target audience will be 16+ because I think
it will be interesting for young people to see what communication was like
before their generation, the dangers they put themselves in online, and to
give parents more of an understanding of why the kids of today have such
different communication styles – our primary way of communicating is
through text. These are all things I will implement into my production.
 The client I have chosen is The UK Film Festival. Selected
Filmmakers will be competing for the UK Film Festival Edgeware
Awards in the categories of,
Best Short Film, Best British Short, Best Feature Film, Best Feature
Documentary, Best Short Documentary, Best Music Video, Best
Animation and Best Student Film; as well as various special awards
including the Edgeware Special Jury Prize. The winners will be
announced at the end of the festival screenings.
CLIENT
The Edgeware Grand Prix is the largest Cash Prize in the UK (for
Short Film)
