LOG

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Newton’s three laws of motion.
B. Performance Develop a written plan and implement a “Newton’s Olympics”.
Standard
C. Learning S8FE-Ib-17: Demonstrate how a body responds to changes in motion.
Competencies/ Sub-tasks:
1. Explain the Newton’s first law of motion;
Objectives 2. Demonstrate Newton’s first law of motion;
3. Cite real-life applications of the concept of Newton’s first law of motion.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous ELICIT
lesson or presenting o The teacher will facilitate a pre-lesson activity to review the concept about
balanced and unbalanced forces. This activity will be able to elicit prior knowledge
the new lesson of students about the present lesson.
o In particular, the teacher will show pictures of objects to be analyzed by the
students and tell whether the system has balanced or unbalanced forces.

Activity 1: Pre-Lesson Activity

 Worksheet No. 1 – Balanced or Unbalanced!
Direction: Tell whether the picture or situation shows a system of balanced or
unbalanced forces.
B. Establishing a ENGAGE
purpose for the o The teacher will let the students read the specific objectives and will be discussed
briefly. With this, the students will be able to personalize and clearly understand
lesson the learning target.
C. Presenting o The class will be divided into 6 groups to perform the next activity.
examples/instances
of the new lesson Activity 2:
 Worksheet No. 2 – Small vs. Big
The teacher will provide 2 objects with different masses (big and small), and then the
students will try to move each object by applying a force (push or pull).
The students will then realize that the bigger the mass of an object the greater the
force needed to change its state or position.

 Worksheet No. 3 – Pack of coins

o The teacher will instruct the students to pile 10pcs of 1 peso coin, and then, they
are tasked to remove the 1 peso coin located at the bottom of the pile by using a
ruler.
o The students will then analyze the concept behind the system or situation occurred
during the drill. This analysis leads to the Newton’s first law of motion: Law of
inertia.

And to be followed by generalization and thorough discussion through oral
the lesson questioning.
I. Evaluating Learning EVALUATE
Evaluation: Essay
Direction: Explain the Newton’s first law of motion.
J. Additional activities EXTEND
for application or Assignment:
Direction: Enumerate three situations at home with the concept relating to the
remediation Newton’s first law of motion. Then explain each thoroughly in a 1 whole sheet of
paper.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional activities for
remediation
C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners who have caught
up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these
work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or
supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover
which I wish to share with other teachers?
