1. Level of air pollution can be determined by comparing the amount of solid


pollutants in the air which are harmful to life and the environment.
An experiment was carried out to investigate the level of air pollution at
different locations in the city of Penang. 4 pieces of grid glass plate with
sticky surface were placed at different locations. The glass plates were left
for a week and the total surface areas covered by the solid pollutants were
determined by using grid. Diagram 1 shows the grid glass plate used in this
experiment.
