Task 1 OLED technology
(a) Find out why inkjet printers are helping to reduce the cost of manufacturing OLED
screens.
(b) Find out how the different colours are generated when using OLED technology.

Task 2 In-car entertainment screen


You have been asked to design a new in-car entertainment screen aimed at keeping young
children in the rear of cars occupied on long journeys. The screen may, or may not be
incorporated into the rear of the front headrests.
Design a specification list for the requirements of such a screen and justify which screen
technologies you would use for the purpose.

Task 3 Light projectors

Look at these two images of the Hindenburg Disaster in 1937. Image A is a still taken from
the original black and white video footage. Image B is taken from a new version which uses
a computer to ‘colourise’ the video footage.
Using your knowledge about how light projectors work, explain how it could be possible to
convert image A into image B.
