SHERLOCK HOLMES A STUDY IN PINK

PROLOGUE

The story starts with Jhon Watson, a retired army doctor, waking up after having had the same nightmare
connected to the time when he was working at Afghanistan. He still remembered the sounds of war and
suffering.

It took him a couple seconds to realise that his days in the army were over now. After that, he started
writing his daily blog as a suggestion of his therapist, Ella. He was wondered what to write. Later that
morning, Jhon had a meeting with Ella. As usual, he was carrying his walking stick because he has limp.

Once there, Ella asked him about his blog and he replied that it was good but she knew that he wasn’t
writing anything. She also knew about his problems trusting people.

Then, she suggested him to write what happened to him but he answered that nothing happened to him at
all.
CHAPTER 1 THE FIRST MEETING

Detective Inspector Lestrade, a police officer, was talking to the press because during the day a dead body
had appeared. Apparently, it was the body of a politician, Beth Davenport. So the press were hungry for
information.

Beside him, there was one of his officers, Sargeant Donovan, she was explaining all the facts to the reports
in New Scotland Yard’s press room. There had been three identical apparent suicides, people had been
committing suicide by taking a poisoned pill. However, they didn’t know how to explain the press all the
facts involved in these cases. Eventually, Detective Lestrade, Sargean Donovan and the reporters received
the same message on their phones and it said WRONG.

Sergeant Donovan felt upset and the reporters over and over began to ask them why they were
investigating if they were suicides and Captain Lestrade explained them that there was a link between
these suicides. So, they had the best people working on the case.

For the 2nd time, all of them received the same message which said WRONG again. Then, a reporter asked
them if this deaths had all been murder. Lestrade replied that it wasn’t true at all and that they didn’t have
reasons to feel unsafe.

Once more, for the 3rd time, the same text message was received in the room and it said WRONG again.
Eventually, when the conference was over another text message was sent to Lestrade but this time only in
his phone, it said YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND ME. As they were went out, Donovan was angry and told
her boss that he had to stop the man sending those messages of doing those things because he made them
look stupid.

It was a sunny day, Dr Watson was walking on his way home when he run into an old friend in a park. The
man introduced himself as Mike Stamford and told him that they had studied at Barks Hospital together.
Then, Mike told him that he knew he was in the army and Dr Watson pointed down his bad leg and walking
stick. Later that afternoon, both of them were sitting on the park and Mike asked Watson if he was living
in London and he replied that he hadn’t enough money to stay in that town. Mike suggested him sharing a
flat with someone and Watson answered him that nobody would like to share a flat whit him.

Immediately, Mike started to laugh and told him he was the 2nd person saying that. After that, Mike took
Watson to the old hospital where they had studied. As they were entering in Mike’s lab, they met a tall
man with sharp, blue eyes and wavy dark hair who turned to look at them. The tall man asked Mike to
borrow his phone in order to send a message but mike had forgotten his phone in his coat. Immediately,
Watson offered him his phone and the tall man thanked him. After that, the tall man started to examine
his face, clothes, walking stick, stance and everything about him and said: AFGHANISTAN or IRAQ??

Dr Watson didn’t understand what he meant. Then the tall man asked him where it had happened, and
while he was pointing at his leg he said quickly AFGHANISTAN.

Dr Watson was surprised and asked him how he knew that. The tall man didn’t answer and he continued
asking Jackson if he liked the violin. It was because people who were going to share a flat together needed
to know all about each other and he also said that there was a nice place in the centre of London.

At that point, Jhon felt totally confused and thought he was already lost in the half of his conversation.
Immediately he told Mike if he had told him about him and he replied NOT AT ALL.
As the man was putting his long coat, he told Watson that he had told Mike earlier that he was a difficult
person to share a flath with and a few hours later, an old Mike’s friend appeared, so he knew Watson was
a possible flat partner. Dr Watson was still confused.

Unexpectedly, the tall man looked at Wason’s eyes and said he knew he had been an army doctor who
returned home after being hurt in Afghanistan, and that he had a brother who was divorced and was
worried about him but Watson didn’t want to ask him for help.

The man also told him about his therapist, she thought his limp wasn’t a physical problem because he
considered it was only on Watson’s mind. Finally, he introduced himself as ‘’SHERLOCK HOLMES, gave him
the address of the flat which was 221B- BAKER STREET and suggested to be there at 7oclock and then left.
CHAPTER 2 THE GAME IS ON!

The next day Watson arrived at the flat on Baker Street at 7 o’clock. Suddenly, a black taxi stopped in front
of the flat and Sherlock jumped out. Sherlock didn’t seem surprised to see Dr Watson and exclaimed that
it was a nice part of the city but Watson didn’t agree with him. He thought that it was expensive to live
there. Sherlock smiled him and told him that the owner, Mrs Hudson, was going to give him a special prize
because years ago he had helped her husband when he had been caught by the police in Florida.. Then, the
door opened and a woman in her late fifties appeared and Sherlock introduced her as Mrs Hudson.

Once there, the rooms were big with high cellings but the place was messy and untidy. There were books,
papers, photos everywhere. Inside the kitchen, there were several books full of more papers and books o
the floor.

Then, Watson suggested getting rid of all the rubbish, Sherlock agreed and quickly began to move all his
things. Dr Watson realized that it was Sherlock’s stuff. Then, Mrs Hudson appeared and asked him what he
thought, Jhon wasn’t still sure he was trying to get used to the sudden change in direction that his life had
taken because he was sharing a flat with a strange man who(m) he met only once.

After that, Watson told Sherlock that he had read about him on the internet and he also found out his
website, it was called ‘’THE SCIENCE OF DETECTIVE WORK’’. There, it said he was able to identify a PC
programmer by his tie and an airline pilot by his left thumb. Sherlock replied him that it was true and he
could recognize him by looking his face and limp and his brother from his phone.

Suddenly, Mrs Hudson came back into the living room with a newspaper and asked Sherlock about the 3
suicides. Sherlock was standing at the window when he saw a police car with flashing lights stopping on the
street outside. Immediately Sherlock replied her “FOUR”, there were 4 suicides.

After a few minutes, Detective Inspector Lestrade entered in his flat. There, he requested for Sherlock’s
intervention over the fourth deaths and quickly gave him the directions, it was in Brixton at Lauriston
Gardens. He explained that the person had left a note unlike the other suicides and Anderson was in
charged at the crime scene.

Sherlock looked annoyed because he didn’t work well with Anderson. He also exclaimed that he needed an
assistant. After that, he left the flat and Sherlock was excited and started to jump into the air while he was
saying FOUR SUICIDES and a NOTE, IT IS LIKE CHRISTMAS. Eventually, he took his coat and left the room
totally fascinated.

Inside the room, remained Mrs Hudson and DR Watson, she was pleased at Sherlock’s behaviour. Then,
she offered Watson a cup of tea when suddenly Sherlock appeared at the front of the door and asked
Watson if he wanted to see a a death body. Watson didn’t think twice and accepted to go with him to the
crime scene. Sherlock was so happy shouting THE GAME IS ON.

A few minutes later, Watson and Sherlock were sitting in the back of a taxi on their way to Brixton. There,
Watson started questioning Sherlock. He wanted to know who he was. Sherlock told him he was a private
detective, not a common one; he was different because he knew what to do in a case when the police
didn’t manage it.

So he started explaining why he knew who Dr Watson was. He said that he had just seen him, his haircut;
the way he stood was obviously the stance of an army man.
He knew he was a doctor because he had heard that they trained together, so he was an army doctor.
Then, he saw a suntan in his face but no above his wrist, he realized he had been abroad but not on
holiday. He also told him about his bad leg and his limp, he quickly deducted that it was all in his mind
because he didn’t ask for a chair when he was standing. So in fact, he had a therapist too.

Finally, he discovered by his mobile phone that he had a brother, it was an expensive one. So it must had
been a gift and it also had scratches as if it had been someone’s pocket with coins and keys. So this phone
was from someone else. The phone also had some words scratched on the back, HARRY with love. The gift
wasn’t given by his father because he was too old to know about technology but his brother. He gave the
phone when he left that person. Sherlock went on that he didn’t get on whit his brother as a result he
didn’t ask him for help.

Watson felt pretty surprised after heard that and he said that it was amazing and extraordinary. Sherlock
told him that people didn’t say that, they usually said GO AWAY.

Once at Lauriston Gardens, there was a line yellow police tape around the front of the building and there
were some police officers guarded the front door. Inside the building, there was the 4th dead body.
CHAPTER 3 THE WOMAN IN PINK

Sherlock and Watson had to go through Sergeant Donovan’s way. She loocked at Sherlock with obvious
dislike . Sherlock told her that he was invited by Detective Lestrade in order to help him with the
investigation. He also told her that he was working with Watson.

Then, the 2 men past the police tape. Inside Lauriston Garden, they found Detective Lestrade and they
went upstairs. As the 3 men went up to the top floor, Detective Lestrade gave Sherlock 2 minutes with the
body. The suspicious death person was Jenifer Wilson, the body had been found by some kids. She laid-
down on the floor, it was difficult to know the woman’s age because they could hardly see her face in that
position. Apparently, she cared about her appearance because her coat ,shoes and even her umbrella
were exactly the same colour-PINK.

Sherlock stared down at the body and he ordered the people around to shut up their mouth or thoughts.

She had written the word RACHE upon the floor
