(1) Make sure that the squat switch is in the IN AIR position, and that the landing gear is extended.
(2) Put the AVIONICS MASTER switch to the ON position.
(3) (Airplanes -0260 and On.) Engage the primary flight display (PFD) circuit breakers.
(4) Get access to the AOA computer under the floorboard panel 271ATC. Refer to Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels
Identification - Description and Operation.
WARNING: Incorrect adjustment of the AOA computer normalizing switches can cause early or late onset
of stall warning.
(5) Loosen the two screws that attach the access plate, found on the upper surface of the AOA computer, and move the
plate to get access to the test points and AOA normalizing switch (S1), refer to Figure 603.
(a) Slide the plate out of the way to give access to the test points and the AOA normalizing switch (S1), refer to
Figure 603.
(6) Record the current switch segment positions before you continue.
NOTE: The normalization switch adjustment and measurement tests in this section makes sure that
the AOA system components are in tolerance. The switch adjustment and mVDC DVM
measurement in this step must not be confused with the in-flight adjustment that also uses
Table 601. The in-flight adjustment procedure calibrates the system to agree with the flight
properties of the airplane. Thus, you must put the switches to the flight position after you
complete this section.
(7) Make sure that all segments of the AOA normalizing switch (S1), located on the signal summing unit, are in open
position, except for segment 2, which is ON.
(8) Connect the digital voltmeter HI lead to ALPHA test point, and the LO to the GND test point, located on signal
summing unit, adjacent to switch (S1).
(9) Install the AOA protractor if not previously installed, refer to Preliminary Test Procedure.
(10) Set the AOA protractor to 11.8 degrees clockwise and record the DC voltmeter reading in millivolts.
(a) If the recorded reading is between -30mV and +30mV, the switch segments are in the correct position and no
changes are required.
(b) If the recorded reading is outside tolerance of -30mV and +30mV, refer to Table 601 for the closest voltage and
set (S1) switch segments as indicated.
1 Make sure that the DVM reading is between -30mV and +30mV after resetting the switch segment
positions.

move to the correct position.
NOTE: (Airplanes -0056 thru -0259.) If EFIS is installed, and one symbol generator has been removed
from the airplane, the EADI operating from the MFD backup will not present an accurate
FAST/SLOW indication. This does not constitute a failure of the requirements of this functional
test.
WARNING: Failure to return the switches to the flight setting positions can cause early or late onset of stall
warning.
(16) Return the normalization switch settings to the flight calibration setting recorded on the Safe Flight Placard.
(17) Install the access plate on top of AOA computer and the tighten screws.
(18) Remove the protractor from the AOA vane.
