Corrosion is mainly due to water condensation and humidity coming from MOD. 4016 (ST1 D390; ST2 D; ST3 D438; ST4 D466; ST5 D455)
the toilet apparate spillage. • Replace the material and the protection of the aluminium 2024T3 +
CAA lavatory door sill by aluminium 7175T7351 + SAA.
2. RECOMMENDATIONS • Replace the bolt and anchor nut material.
• Apply water repellent products according to JIC 122351 PRO 10000 • Improve sealing by wet assembly of fasteners and sealant interfay.
periodically (as required) and keep the area clean.
MOD. 4024 (ST2 D; ST3 D444)
• Embody SB as indicated in paragraph 4.
• Install a bead of sealant between the floor components and the rails and
the floor component themselves.

• Install a bead of sealant between the floor components and the rails and
• To improve the corrosion life on the seat tracks:
the floor component themselves.
− Apply PR1436G at the seat track ends, located near the rear doors
and toilet area.

1. NATURE AND REASON FOR CORROSION 5. REPAIR ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN
The corrosion was found on following items: • Restore damaged protection with alodine + primer + top coat per
a. Strap at frame 38. SRM 51-21-17 and SRM 51-21-27.
b. Tail skid fitting. • Mild corrosion treated by SRM 51-21-42.
c. Angle and stiffener attached to fitting. • For moderate and severe corrosion contact ATR STRUCTURE
ENGINEERING SUPPORT.
The corrosion is due to debris projection during take-off and landing,
which damages the fitting, strap and stiffener protective coating; water
penetration / condensation accelerate corrosion phenomena. 6. EXISTING MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

2. RECOMMENDATIONS ZL-140-GVI-10000 (INT.: CFH)
• Apply periodically water repellent products per JIC 122351 • Warning : When performing zonal inspection, close look at tail skid
PRO 10000 and keep the area clean. vane for evidence of corrosion.

FUSELAGE - PAX CREW DOOR THRESHOLD
1. NATURE AND REASON FOR CORROSION MOD. 3841 (ST1 D384; ST2 D; ST3 D429; ST4 D466; ST5 D443)
The corrosion is mostly located on the following areas : • Change the water repellent protection type from LPS3 to AV8.
a. Threshold support plate (sill plate)
MOD. 3845 (ST1 D; ST2 D; ST3 D450 a 450 partial; ST3 D451;
b. Draining channel (pre mod.4069)
ST4 D466; ST5 D443)
c. Intercostals between frames 36 and 39
• Extend the drainage tubes under doors threshold towards the fuselage
d. Frame 36 and 39 at threshold intersection bottom.
The corrosion is mainly due to water accumulation caused by the draining MOD. 4069 (ST1 D; ST3 D; ST4 D487; ST5 D484)
holes plugged by moisture and the gaps between frames and support plate.
• Change the web design to permit an easy cleaning and a better
drainage: deleting the drain channel, enlarging the drain holes and
2. RECOMMENDATIONS covering them with a filter.
• Apply water repellent products according to JIC 122351 PRO 10000
periodically (as required) and keep the area clean. MOD. 8078 (ST1 D; DB1 + IB2)
• Pay particular attention in the draining holes and filters cleaning. • Add filters and increase the length of drain tubes at level of cargo,
• Embody SB as indicated in par. 4. servic e and pax/crew door.
