Microteaching Session Reflection

• Summary of Lesson: How did what you planned to do compare with what you
actually did? Were there any major changes? Why or why not?

• My lesson went as planned for the most part. The students were all
really excited to use Hudl Technique. I created a walk-through demo
that showed the students how to use the app. Once the students had
and iPad they broke off into groups to video themselves fielding a
ground ball. Once they videoed themselves they were to use the tools
within Hudl Technique to critique themselves based on the cues we
went over. I did not have to make any changes in my lesson.

• Analysis of Lesson: What worked well? What didn’t work as well? What else
would the lesson have needed to make it a better experience for you the teacher
and the students, i.e., what else did you need to do to make this lesson better?

• The demonstration that I gave the students really worked well. It

allowed them to see what they were capable of doing with Hudl
Technique. To make this lesson better I would need more equipment.
I did a basic drill that did not require a lot of equipment. To make the
lesson better I would include more equipment to make the activity
more game like.

• Use of technology: How did you integrate technology into the lesson? Describe
successes and challenges.

• Every student had their own iPad. Each student was able to explore
the app before using it. This allowed them to the gain the knowledge
they needed to know to use the app properly. One challenge that I
saw one student face was she was confused on how to share her
video with me. Once the students completed the activity, they were to
email me the video of them fielding a ground ball.

• Adaptations/modifications: What about adaptations or modifications for diverse

learners? EAL learners? Were there any management issues that you had to
address? If so, how did you manage these issues?

• I believe that this lesson would be great for diverse learners. I had
several demonstrations to where students would be able to
understand what was going on and what was being asked of them.
One issue that I had to address was when the students were getting
into their groups, but it was quickly resolved.
• Plans for revision: If you were going to do this lesson again what would you do
differently? Why?

• If I were to do this lesson again I would have everyone partnered up

already. When the students were choosing their partners, it took
more and there was confusion about how many people needed to be
in each group. By having organized groups before the lesson is taught
it saves more time and gives the students more time to participate in
the activity.
