1. HOW DID YOU DEVELOPED YOUR READING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES DURING YOUR
ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL?

During my elementary, I develop my skills in reading by syllabicating the words first; reading
for primary students is not easy, because this is our first step towards reading. As for me, it is
difficult too since I wasn’t able to undergone kindergarten school. I have to read and in the other
hand I have to understand. It was really difficult but enjoyable at the same time because our
teacher before makes reading a game. It’s a quite challengeable too because if we will not able to
read a particular word, our teacher won’t allow us to go outside during lunch break. In taking a
step towards reading we developed our communication not just for ourselves but to the nature of
books or a story perhaps. We learn to communicate the story in the same manner until we are
fully molded and taught ourselves without the help of others.

During my High School days, developing my reading skills is different from my previous school
level. Since we already knew how to read in the first place, my focus is to develop my
pronunciation for I was able to enunciate the message of the story. I read different kinds of story
or even a novel, a verse in the bible. When I am alone I read pocket books because aside from
the story itself, it also quite interesting because it’s all about love.( Hehe. ) we were also
encouraged to participate in class reading comprehension activity. Reading for me during high-
school seems to be a career path, I learnt a lot from it that even up to this day I used to it. I used
to entertain myself reading an article or any story nor a magazine to enjoy my leisure time and
indeed it is very useful. Thank you!
