A Detailed Lesson Plan in ENGLISH VI

I.OBJECTIVES
 Differentiate between comparative and superlative forms of Adverbs
 Give the comparative and superlative degree of the given Adverbs

II. SUBJECT MATTER

 Topic: Differentiating the Comparative and Superlative forms of the Adverbs.

 Materials : Pictures, Puppets, Charts
 Concept: In changing comparative and superlative degree of an adverb add LY at the end
of the word then add or use more or less and most or least at the beginning when it has
two or more syllables. Some other adverbs change the word.

REVIEW OF THE PAST LESSON

John paints carefully


Elmer paints more carefully than John
Of the three, Max paints most carefully
(the pupils will clap)

2.LESSON PROPER

A.MOTIVATION
The pupils will be going to listen to a short
puppet show and their conversation.
(No Ma’am, they have different idea about the
game of the two basketball team)

 Cherry runs the fastest in the race
 The crowd cheered enthusiastically for
Vina
 The crowd cheered more
enthusiastically for Elsa than for Vina
 But the cheered the most
enthusiastically for cherry

C.ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION

Class based on the conversation of the two


girls who runs faster, Vina or Elsa?
(Ma’am Elsa runs faster than Vina)
That is right, now among the three who runs
the fastest? And for whom did the crowd
cheered more enthusiastically?
Ma’am cherry runs the fastest, and Elsa is the
one were the crowd cheer more
enthusiastically.

Like adjectives, when used in comparing
actions and descriptions, adverbs have positive,
comparative and superlative forms.

Class, based on the sentences that you have
read. How do you think the adverbs change in
comparative degree? In the superlative degree?

Ma’am in changing comparative and


superlative degree of an adverb ending in-ly
form use more or less for comparative and
most or least for superlative at the beginning
when it has two or more syllables. Some other
adverbs change the word.

Still other adverbs change in the words as in:

D.GENERALIZATION

What are the three degrees of adverb?


Positive, comparative and superlative
What are the differences between the
comparative and superlative forms of adverbs?
In –ly adverbs when changing it in
comparative form and more in the beginning
and most for the superlative form.
Give me an example of an adverb the give it’s
comparative and superlative form.

E.PRACTICE EXERCISE:

Class last meeting I group you into four group


and I ask you to think a name for your tribe.
And based on the names that you have
submitted to me the name of the tribe are
KABUKI TRIBE, ALCADIA TIBE, and
JOLEENES TRIBE AND ANGLEBERD
TRIBE.
Now go to your group mates and prepared your
show boards and chalks. The rule will be the
same the tribe raise their hand will the name of
their tribe first then their answer. As they got it
correct they are going to attack the other tribe.
The first tribe to have three consecutive
negatives will be eliminated and the tribe
having the highest point wins the reward.

But before we start, can you mention some


standard to follow when we having a game.
