Ben
Don’t get me wrong, I get it. I get why we have to do this. To prove ourselves, to prove we’re
worthy and committed and to show we’re serious. But I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed it. I’ve
never been told what I can and can’t eat. I don’t like sleeping outside. I don’t like walking
everywhere. I don’t like not being able to buy a subway if I’m hungry. It’s not been fun. It’s
not a particularly enjoyable way to live, as far as I’ve experienced.

and…

YOU TOOK HER! You took the only good thing in my life. I would have followed her
anywhere and I did! I wouldn’t have given your twisted cult a second thought had it not been
for her. But she believed in you and now you’ve sent her to her death. To die in your place
because you’re a coward who sends his pawns out for the slaughter. To slaughter
themselves for your cause!
You brainwashed them! You filled them with a type of poison so much worse than the kind
you campaign against. You took away their free will. Now you’ve taken their lives.

Nel
Snared you in?! Snared you?! How dare you insult them like that? How dare you insult me!
Nobody forced you to come here, Ben. Gosh I thought we were past this. Time and time
again, I told you that this is where I wanted to be. I gave you so many chances to bow out
but you said no. You said this is where you wanted to be too. You know how important this is
for me and yes, I can deal with the odd joke or sarcastic comment - that’s a part of you I love
in my own way. But now we’re here, you’re ready to tear it all apart the second things don’t
go your way. We agreed to come here together, Ben and we knew it was going to be a
challenge. Don’t ruin everything over a single silly term. Is my companionship not enough?

Matthew
This pebble is like you. It is small, it is one of a great many and, like all things, it slowly
erodes and ages over time, acquiring new abrasions, new evidence of it’s journey. It is also
strong and it can resist a great deal of harm before crumbling away into dust, as everything
does. Alone, it is tough but when it meets with other stones, it becomes formidable. It can
form a wall. Or a house. Or a castle.
But the cities we come from don’t value stone. They worship plastic. They are artificial,
malignant and if left alone, will outlast all things, consuming them whole.
But the thing about plastic is that it melts. Plastic bends and snaps. And most importantly,
those who worship the plastic pandemic walk on stone foundations. If the foundations defect,
what is left for them to stand on?
Karolina
I had almost given up before I met Matthew. We could barely communicate at first because
my English was so bad but it didn’t matter. He listened to me with his eyes. I always felt he
could look into my soul and see the person underneath. He wasn’t shallow like most people,
he never saw an outsider. I told him what happened to me and he said he’d protect me so
nothing that horrible would ever happen to me again. We spent the next few years together,
discovering more and more about ourselves. I felt safe, I felt loved. Then one day, he took
me on a walk to his favourite beach. We sat down, he looked into my eyes and he told me
he had an idea for a better world. And then, slowly, Atlantis was born

Norman
Norman is a socially awkward character who either can’t or won’t speak freely with the other

perform it with an intention you find befitting of Norman’s character.
