Substitute Teaching September 2018-May 2019
• Substitute Taught in Valley of Ligonier School District, Ligonier School District, and North Star School District,
primarily K-9 but occasionally higher

Highland Elementary School, Burlington, North Carolina August 2017-May 2018


• Taught a 1st grade classroom with 21 students, created innovative, engaging lesson plans and activities,
increasing student learning and motivation, exploring technology integrated within the classroom, using
programs such as Eurika Engage NY (math), LLI guided reading, Jan Richardson guided reading, Daily 5
model, and Fundations (phonics)

• Taught and assisted in a 5th grade resource room (Special Education) gaining experience writing multiple
IEPs, Identifying children with disabilities, developing appropriate accommodations to best fit the students

• Experienced a Year 2 (1st Grade Equivalent) class, gaining experience in the Reading Recovery Program,

• Completed 9 hours of graduate level coursework with 8 weeks of student teaching experience with Year
2 classroom at Torbay through Indiana University’s Global Gateway for Teachers
