INSTRUCCIONES A LOS AUTORES

Los manuscritos deberán enviarse al editor (un original y tres copias)

mecanografiados en papel tamaño carta, a doble espacio, en iiaa cara, y con
márgenes de 2.5 cm. Numerar consecutivamente las paginas hasta la literatura
citada. No incluir notas de pie de página. Además, enviar copia del
manuscrito en Word for Windows (gráficos en Excel) en un disket de 3%" o
CD.

Las instmcciones para los autores aparecen en sititesis en las i~ltimas

páginas de la revista a partir del Volumen 24 (1990). En el Volumen 23: 17-
25, se detallan las normas editoriales.

Por favor dirigir una correspondencia al Editor (firmado por todos los
coautores) indicando que el articulo original enviado al Boletín no ha sido
publicado anteriormente ni tampoco remitido simultáneamente a otra revista.

Los manuscritos deberán seguir el siguiente formato general: Titulo,

Resumen, Abstract, Introducción, Materiales y Métodos, Resultados,
Discusión, Conclusiones (si hay), Agradecimientos y Literatura Citada.

Título: Deberá ser breve y especifico, y generalmente no debe contar

con mas de diez palabras.

Autores: Indicar los nombres, apellidos y direcciones completos (incluir

dirección de correo electrónico). Señalar el autor a quién dirigir
correspondencia.

Resumen: Se elab rara un resumen en inglés y oho en el idioma en que

esté escrito el articulo; c iando el texto esté en inglés, el otro se escribirá en
espailol, y no debe exce r de 200 palabras (ó 3% del largo del texto). Incluir
aproximadamente seis p labras claves por orden alfabético en los idiomas
correspondientes. Inclui un titulo breve a ser colocado e11el encabezamiento.

: Ordenar alfabéticamente. Las abreviaturas de los

nombres de las deberán ajustarse a lo indicado en los códigos
internacionales escribir el nombre completo si hay una duda.

Referencias a trabajos no publicados (reportes, informes, entre otros) o en

preparación, deberán ser citadas en el texto como comunicaciones personales.

Tablas y figuras: Las tablas y las figuras deben ser citadas en el texto y
anexarse en hojas separadas y numeradas en orden consecutivo. Si se trata de
fotos, escribir el número de la foto y el nombre del autor en el reverso, parte
superior (posición correcta). Cada tabla y figura llevará un encabezamiento e
ira numerada con números ardbigos. Las leyendas deberán enviarse
numeradas y separadas tanto del texto como de las ilustraciones y a doble
espacio.

Las figuras deben ser originales, preparadas en papel de buena calidad,

tamaño carta (21.5 cm x 28 cm) y rotuladas en tinta china, o copias de buena
calidad de impresora. Se aceptarán sólo ilustraciones (fotos) en blanco y
negro, en papel brillante y nítidas, Para las ilustraciones a color, consultar con
el editor.

Toda figura incluirh una escala gráfica, y el tamaño, grosor de línea,

dimensiones de símbolos, entre otros, deberán calcularse para una reducción
óptima. El carácter mas pequeño luego de la reducción no debe ser menor de
1.5-2 mm.

Evitar las tablas grandes y complejas. Tomar en cuenta el formato de la

Revista.

Los trabajos serán evaluados por tres o más árbitros, designados por el
Comité Editorial. El Editar decidirá entonces, su aceptación o rechazo.

FOR CONTRIBUTORS

The Boletín del Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas welcomes articles

and notes containing the restilts of original studies or obsewations. The
manuscript should be sent to the Editor (one original and three copies) on one
side of 8.5 x I linch (21.5 x 28 cm) paper, and with at least 2.5 cm margins.
AIl typescript must be double-spaced, including tables and figure captions.
Number the pages throogh the Literature Cited; avoid footnotes. Also, send a .
copy of the manuscript (Word for Windows preferred) on CD or 3% inch
diskette. Graphics should be in Excel.

Iiistnictions for authors are summarized on the last pages of the Boletín,
starting with Vol. 24 (1990). In Vol. 23: 17-25, more detailed instructions are
given.

Please send correspondence to the Editor (signed by al1 coauthors)

stating that the manuscript has not been published previously nor sent
simultaneously to other joumals.

Manuscripts are usoally in the following fomiat: Title, Abstract.

Acknowledgments, and Literature Cited.

Title: The title should be short and specific, usually not more thaii ten

Abstract: Submit abstract in the langiiage of the article, and another

in English. If article is i wnte the other abstract in Spanish. Include
about six key words, in order, and in both languages. Abstracts
should not exceed 200 the length of the paper. Also provide a
short ninning head.

Literature Cited: Cite works in alphabetical order. Only standard
,

abbreviatioiis commonly used in the tnternational literature should be used.
When in doubt, spell out completely. References to unpublished works
(reports, manuscripts, etc.) should be cited only in the text as personal
, communications.

Tables and figures: Tables and figure captions are submitted separately
from the text (douhle-spaced) on consecuttvely numbered pages. All tables
and figures must be cited in the article. For photos, write the number and
author's name with soft pencil on the back, and at the top. All tables and
figures must have captlons, and be numbered consecutively with Arabic
numbers. Avoid large, complex tables. Follow the format of the joumal.
Figure captions are submitted separately from the illustrations.

Figures should he originals. prepared on good quality paper (21.5 x 28

cm), using iindiluted india ink, or good quality printer copies. Photos should
be black and white, glossy, and of good contrast and sharpness. Consult the
Editor about color photos.

Figures should be large enough to permit reduction to the size that they
will appear in print, including the size and thickness of lines and letters. After
reduction, letter height should not be less than 1.5-2 mm. Where periinent,
figures should include a scale.

Before the Editor decides to accept an article, it is evaluated by at least

three reviewers designat~dby the Editorial Committee.

The Editorial ~ o i m i t t e ereserves the right to make corrections in style

once the article has beenlaccepted for publication.
