what we’ve tackled yesterday.
Class, what is our lesson yesterday?
Our topic yesterday is all about
Software for Educators and
Students.

Very Good.
On this topic we’ve already know the
system and application software
which help administrators, teachers
and learners electronically meet the
ends of their product.

Class, what are the different

operating systems? 1. Stand-Alone Operating
Systems
2. Embedded Operating
Systems
3. Emerging Operating
Systems

Good Job. Again? What is software

for educators and learners is all
about?
It is all about the application
software that allows students and
teachers to enhance their skills in
producing creative outputs.

What are those creative outputs that

they will produce? Those are reports,
representations, record keeping,
and many others.
Excellent!
Okay now, Let me check if you really
understand the topic we have
discussed yesterday.
Let’s have a game.

We will call this game “Who am I”

This is a group activity where I want
you to feel the presence of the team.

holding the box, will pick the name of
the one who will answer the
question.

Of course, I have here a score board,

if you get a correct answer, I will add
a star on our score board, and at the
end of our discussion the group has
the most star point will receive a
reward.
Get it class?
Yes Ma’am.
Let us now, Start the game.

In order us to go on the Software
Museum, we need to close our eyes,
and sing the “travel Song”.
(DORA SONG)
When I say, Where are we going? In the Software Museum!
Where are we going? In the Software Museum!
Okay, is it clear? Yes Ma’am.

Let’s duck our head, close your eyes

and imagine that we are travelling
while we are singing.
(The students will sing while the
teacher prepared the Software
Museum.)
Okay, we are here! To the count of
three we opened our eyes. 1-2-3!
Welcome to the Software Museum!
Let’s take a look around.
Ms .Google is here and seems He
have a message for us.

D. Presentation
This afternoon were going to study
about Instructional Software for
classroom use The game that we play
is an example of instructional
software. Under this chapter, we
have to tackle the benefits of some
instructional software and the
importance of it on our educational
purposes.
Classs, Do you have any idea about
Instructional Software? Instructional Software is a
program of computer,
which help students to
learn.
Very Good! So, Instructional Software
is basically a Program or series of
computer which helps students to
learn the instructional software for
educational purposes.
Instructional Software have 5 types,
first we have:
1. Drill and Practice Software

( Flashing example of Drill and practice

software and brief explanation )

Class, Do you have a similar type

of games like this? Can you give
some examples?

 4 pics One Word

 Word Escape
 Word Connect
 Word Link
Very Good! All your answers are
correct.
Do you want to try this game?
I have here a big Drill and
Practice game, but before we
answer, we need to read and
follow the instruction well.
(INSERT GAME)

Okay, what do you observe on

Drill and Practice game? Benefits
• Immediate Feedback
- paper and pencil drill-
and-practice gives delayed
feedback.

Yes, thus, students would not

know immediately how much
they performed in their Drill-and- • Motivation -
practice. students are not simply
motivated doing paper and
pencil drill-and-practice.

For reasons that they do not like

writing or they have poor writing
skills.
• Saving Teacher Time
- Teachers can attend to
other student needs while
their students spend time
doing the drill-and-
practice.

All your answers are correct.

Let’s proceed on the second
instructional software. We have:

2. Tutorial Software

( Flashing the example of Tutorial

Software and brief explanation )

(INSERT A KEYBOARD TUTORIAL VIDEO)

What are the benefits of the tutorial that you Benefits:

will watch? Tutorials are self-contained
and self-paced instruction.

Very Good, because it allows students to

learn at their own time. It can also motivate student
because tutorial gives
instruction were the
students be able to follow.

Tutorial also gives us a

clear and easiest
instruction.

That’s right. Tutorial also save the time of a

teacher and lessen the paper and pencil
work of a children.

The third one is:

3. Simulation Software

(Flashing the Example Simulation

Software and brief explanation)
Example of this software is where the
Architect sketching their plan, some of
them did not use a Sketchpad and pencil.
Some of them prefer to use a Hi-tech
Sketch computer.

Can you give me some example of

simulation software? A cartoon maker was
sketch on the monitor not
on the paper.
I have here example games of simulation
software. All you need to do is to fit the
similar object. You only have 5 minutes
to perform the given task.

So what are the benefits of the simulation

software in the classroom use? Benefits
• It compress Time -
Students do not have to
wait for the living thing to
grow and develop its cycle
in real time for this can be
presented in the simulation
software in just a couple of
minutes.

That’s right. What else?

• Slow Down
Processes - Events or
processes that happen that
is invisible to the human
eye.
Very good. It can actually be played in
slow motion to enable the students to see
how such event or process happens in
reality.

• Get Students
Involved - The participation
of the students is necessary
for them to be able to learn
what may happen in a
particular situation.

• Make
Experimentation Safe -
Simulation software is best
in keeping the students safe
in learning some things.

What are those things?

Like driving vehicles
handling volatile
substances
Search and rescue
situations.
Very good! What else?

• Make the Impossible

Possible, the students
experience the impossible
and learn the possible.

What are those impossible things that

can turn to possible? - Walking on the moon
traveling to the universe,
witnessing the volcanoes
erupt

Very Good. It can also Save Money and

other Resources - Through learning by
doing is the best learning experience.

Simulation software may

still give rightful learning
experience at a fraction of
the cost, like dissection
animals, hardware unit, and
the like.
Awesome! What else?

• Allow Repetition
with Variations -
Simulations allow students
to repeat events many
times as they until they
master the lesson they wish
What else? to learn.

• Allow observation of
Complex Processes -
Simulation software makes
learning and understanding
For students to see what is happening. of complex lessons and
processes easier.

Very Good. Next we have :

4. Instructional Games

(Flashing the example of Instructional

Games and brief explanation)

Okay class, another example of

instructional games is here. You need to
arrange this puzzle to form a given
picture or image. You have 5 minutes to
accomplish the given task.

What are the benefits of the

instructional games?

Benefits
• Games are more
interesting than traditional
instruction.
• Retention of
Information is longer
• Assists teachers to
get students to focus on the
topic
• Make learning more
engaging and motivational.

Very Good. Last we have:

5. Problem-Solving Software
(Flashing of example of Problem-
Solving Software)

I have here an example of

problem and solving software and you
will need to solve and analyse the given
problem. You only have 5 minutes to
accomplish the task.

=3

=2
What are the benefits of solving and
problem software?
Benefits
• Promotes
Visualization in
Mathematics problem
solving.
• Fosters better
understanding in
visualization of abstract
concepts.
• Improves interest
and motivation in doing
problem-solving activities.
Very good. This will allow students to
become more active and impulsive problem
solvers.

This time, you will learn other software

support tools that would likewise benefit
teachers in teaching and students in
learning in various classroom situations.
What are the advantages of theses software
support tools?
• Improved efficiency
and productivity
• Enhanced product
appearance
• More precise and
aptness of information
• More support for
collaboration

How about the Software Support Tool

Categories? • Materials
Generators
• Data Collection and
Analysis tools
• Graphic Tools
• Planning and
organizing tools
• Research and
Reference tools
