Dear Candidate,

With reference to your application for admission to Ph.D. Programme, you have been called for Written Test and/or
Interview at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in the Electrical Engineering Department/ Centre /School / ID
groups. The list of candidates, Written Test and/or Interview details and dept link is available on the Institute
website http://www.iitb.ac.in/newacadhome/phd.jsp.

The Written Test and/or Interview will be held on the prescribed date & time as given in schedules in the respective
academic units. The candidate must report at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of Written Test and/ or
Interview to the Head of the academic unit. The dates for Written Test and/ or Interview will not be changed.

Only those candidates who are under SC/ST/PwD category and have called for Test/Interview under Teaching
Assistantship will be paid to and fro Second class non A/C fare by the shortest railway route from their place of
residence to the Institute.For this purpose, they have to produce onward railway ticket/photocopy of the return
ticket in support of their claims.The concerned candidate has to fill only ONE TA claim form even if he/she has to
attended more than one Written Test and/or Interview in different Departments/Centres/Schools/IDPs of the
Institution.

Candidates with First class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) in M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent, applied
for Ph.D. Programme under "Teaching/Research Assistantship" category MUST HAVE valid GATE score or
CSIR/UGC/NBHM research fellowships, failing which, they are not eligible for " Teaching/Research
Assistantship " of the Institute.

Candidate will be required to produce at the time of Written Test and/or Interview the following certificates in original
for verification.

* Photo ID Card
* Hard Copy of Application submitted Online
* Date of Birth Certificate/10th class leaving certificate.
* Mark-sheets of the qualifying examination.
* Provisional Degree Certificate (PC)/Qualifying Degree Certificate (QDC) (if available).

* Qualifying Exam Score card Certificate (GATE/CEED/CSIR/UGC or any other).

* Final year thesis/dissertation/report/publication
* Caste Certificate (OBC-NC(Non-Creamy)/SC/ST) (if applicable)*
* EWSs Certificate (if applicable)
* Persons with Disability Certificate (for PwD category students) (if applicable)
* No Objection certificate from employer (for students admitted in CT/SW/EX/Study Leave category) (if applicable)
* Sponsorship Certificate (for Sponsored / External category students.) (if applicable)
* Experience Certificate (if applicable)
* Any other relevant certificate (if applicable)

*Candidates belonging to OBC-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NC) may submit the OBC-NC certificate issued in
the year 2019-20. However they may be submit the latest OBC-NC certificate issued considering for the
financial year 2018-19 at the time of joining.

Result of Written Test and/or Interview will be declared on May 20th, 2019 and will be available on Institute
website http://www.iitb.ac.in/newacadhome/phd.jsp

FURTHER, THE RESULTS OF WRITTEN TEST AND/OR INTERVIEW ALONG WITH SPECIMEN COPY OF THE
ADMISSION OFFER LETTER WILL BE PUT ON THE IIT WEBSITE http://www.iitb.ac.in/newacadhome/phd.jsp
FOR INFORMATION OF ALL.

If selected, the candidate will be required to pay fees, deposits and Hostel Rent { as mentioned in the A.8 }
PAYMENT OF FEES AND DEPOSITS in Appendix C-1 of the Ph.D. Information Brochure 2019-20, through SBI
Internet Banking, Canara Internet Banking and PAYU payment gateway (includes credit card, debit card and
Internet banking of all major banks).

The Registration & Orientation Programme is scheduled on July 22nd , 2019 to July 24th , 2019 and
Instruction begins from July 29th ,2019.

The Institute reserves the right to withdraw the admission AT ANY TIME, in case the candidate does not
fulfill the minimum qualification/required percentage of marks in qualifying examination or supplies any
false information.
