PREFACE

RE-5200CT is new, self-contained tool intended for use on the


window Platform. While the RE-5200CT Application is the main focus on the panel to tool
constitution services. The scope of the tool encompasses an Addressable panel Configuration.
So this aspect and uses is covered in detail with in this instruction Manual. Configuration
tool is an interaction with Addressable Panel through USB.

This operating manual gives the complete guidelines about the RE-5200CT [Addressable
configuration Tool].

INTRODUCTION

This user manual intends to guide the RE-5200CT operations. This tool is based on
the USB. This RE-5200CT tool is used to configure and Backup the configuration
data of the Addressable Panel. User operating Instructions are provided in this
manual.

GENERAL:

RE-5200CT tool is based on the COM port. All Information from the Addressable
panel is configured via COM Port. The Configuration Information from the
Addressable Panels is received & Send by the RE-5200CT tool.

Installation
This installation provides information about the installation of Configuration tool.

This chapter explains

Installation Prerequisites

RE-5200CT Configuration Tool requires the following to properly interface with and
configure an Addressable Fire Alarm System.

• Configuration Tool installed on the configuring PC that is running Windows 7 or a


later version with USB 2.0 or Ethernet.

Hardware Prerequisites

The suggested minimum capacity is:

• P5 and Above Processor


• 512MB Minimum RAM
• 40GB HDD Minimum Hard Disk
• Windows 7 and Above
• USB cable type: Class A-B.
• Ethernet

Connection Methods

• USB (COM Port).

Additional Software Prerequisites

Configuration Tool has a one click installer that searches for and if needed, will install
the following applications.

RE-5200CT Configuration Tool Installations

The Configuration tool installation process is a fully automated process that is


launched from the Configuration tool installation CD.

Configuration Tool automatically detects and installs any missing prerequisite


components without establishing an Internet connection to download any installation
files.

To install RE-5200CT (Addressable configuration Tool)

1. Launch setup.exe to install the application and the Tool prerequisites.


2. Installing additional Prerequisites.

ATTENTION:
The user installing Configuration tool must have Administrator rights.
Windows 7 and 8 Users.
If you receive Program Compatibility Issue click Run Program.

3. After installing the additional required applications, the Configuration tool setup
screen will appear. Click Next.

4. To install this Folder Click Next, To install to a different folder Click Browse

5. Select whether this is installation is to be the Every One or yourself.

8. Once the installation process has completed. Click Close.

Uninstalling RE-5200CT Applications

Configuration tool component uninstallation occurs from each application and uninstalls the
applications.

To uninstall RE-5200CT Configuration tool and its components

1. From Windows select Start > Control Panel. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
The Add or Remove Programs dialog box appears.
2. Choose the RE-5200CT application and select Remove. The uninstallation takes a few
seconds.

Note: Uninstall does not remove Prerequisites components. You must manually
Uninstall those components.

Programming Operations

Using windows on the project


This help describes how to use the Configuration Tool. This includes a glossary and
information regarding the Configuration Tool. The user should have a basic
familiarity with computers and windows. Commands are offer through more than one
method, Such as from the main menu bar, Status bar or different window.
Login window:
To identifying the authentication of user to specify what users could visit a particular
set of pages. It also looked at declarative and programmatic techniques for controlling
the data displayed and the functionality offered by a window based on the user
visiting.

In particular, we created a page that listed the contents of the current directory.
Anyone could visit this page, but only authenticated users could view the files’
contents and only authorized user could delete the files.

The boxes found on the Login Window are described below.


Username: Specified the tool Login id used for the connection.
Password: Specified the password for the User Password used for the connection.
User Type: Displays group options for Level of Access a tool.

Project window

This section describes the projects of the Configuration Tool, its include Menu Bar.

Main Window

This section describes the Main window of the Configuration Tool, including Menu
Bar, Tabs, and Tree panels.

Using commands on the menu bar Project Window:

The commands found on the Project menu are described below.

File: The file menu provides commands for creating, opening project. (Shortcut = Alt, F)

About: Displays the version number and copyright notice (Shortcut = Alt, A)

Exit: Closes the Configuration tool (Shortcut = Alt, E)

File Menu

The file menu provides commands for creating, opening project. To use the file menu
commands,

Click file on the menu bar, and then select the command.

The commands found on the Project menu are described below

New: Creates a new project database (Shortcut = Alt, F, N)

Open: Opens an existing project database (Shortcut = Alt, F, O)

Creating a new project

Use the New command on the file menu to create a new project.

To create a new project:

1. On the File menu, click New.

Clicking new its opens the New Configuration dialog box.

The New Menu is used to create a new Project for particular sites.

The user should be enter all the Necessary information and click the save button.

Opening an existing project

Opening a project loads the project configuration information into the configuration utility
and starts an editing session.

To open an existing project:

1. On the Project menu, click Open.


2. Click the Project Name arrow then select the project from the list.
3. If there is only one project available, click OK.

If there is more than one, select the correct version number, and then click OK. Use the
description in the Description box to help you identify the project.

Password Change
Password change updates the password for the user in the Soft Connect.
The boxes found on the Password window are described below.
User Name: Specifies the existing user name.
Old Password: Specifies the existing password.
New Password: Specifies the new password.
Confirm Password: Specifies the new password a second time, for confirmation.

Main Window
Main Window contains Menus and Tree view to represent the Panel.

Add Panel

Site Name
Project Name

Step1: Right Click the Project name and Select the Add Panel Option in the popup Menu.

Step2: Select the edit Menu and Click the Add Panel Option.

Project Panel Options


After Adding the panel right Click the Panel to Configure, Connect, Rename, Delete the Panel.

Panel Configuration

On the Panel Node Popup Menu, Select configure.

Panel Configuration encompasses and Addressable panel Configuration. Panel Configuration


contains,

• 4 Menus are Program, Edit, Communication and Exit.


• 6 main Tabs are System, LoopCard, Group, Features, Events and Report.

System
It’s contains a 5 sub tabs are Settings, Relay Output’s, Remote Input’s, Advanced.

Settings

1. On the System Tab, Select Settings Tab.


2. Click Edit button to Edit a Settings.
3. Select a Date Using Calendar.
4. Enter the time in the Format of (HH:MM:SS) 24 hrs time.
5. Enter the Caption with maximum 40 Characters.
6. And Click the Update button to update a panel data.

Relay Output

1. On the System Tab, Select Relay Output’s Tab.


2. Click Edit button to Enabling the Relay.
3. Select the Relay 1, 2 Outputs.
4. And Click the Update button to update a data to a panel.

Night Mode

1. On the System Tab, Select Night Mode.


2. Click Edit button to Enabling the Night Mode Option.
3. Check the Necessary option to configure.
4. And Click the Update button to update a data to a panel.

Loop Card
Note:

Depends upon the Panel Option, Panel Belongs to Loop Sounder or without Loop Sounder
option Based on this option the Device count and Device type differ in LoopCard Option.

With Loop Sounder Max 159 Devices to Configure the Loop Sounder has 128 to 159
addresses.

Step1: Select the Loop card On the Loop Card Tab.

1. Check the any one of the LoopCard.

Step2: Set Loop Card Status and Style

1. On the Loop Card Tab.


2. Do the Step 1.
3. Click Edit button to Enabling the Status and Style.
4. Select the Style and Status of the Selected LoopCard.

Status Style
Enable Class A
Disable Class B

5. Configure with any one combination of this table.


6. And Click the Update button to update a data to a panel.

Step3: Read a LoopCard data from a Panel.

1. Do the Step 1.
2. Click Edit button to Enabling the LoopCard information’s.
3. Press the Read Device button it’s automatically read selected LoopCard
Device information from the Panel.

Step4: Add a devices to a panel

1. Do the Step 1.
2. Click Edit button to Enabling the LoopCard information’s.
3. There are two ways to add a devices
1. Double Click the cell to add a device. Once you select a device it automatically adds
Default Device information.

2. First select a Cells with help of mouse and select a device name and Click add
click Add devices Button to add a device. For add a multiple address with
same devices using Shift or control key to select address do the same.

Step5: Update a Data to a Panel

1. Do the Step 1.
2. Click Edit button to Enabling the LoopCard information’s.
3. Do the Step 3 to add a Device.
4. Then click an update button to update Device information to a Panel.

Step6: Delete and Delete all a devices

1. Do the Step 1.
2. Click Edit button to Enabling the LoopCard information’s.
3. Do the Step 3 to add a Device.
4. To delete a devices First select device address using mouse click for multiple
select uses Shift /control key then press a Delete button.
5. Then Click the update button its update a panel.
6. To delete all the devices click Delete all button its delete all the Devices from
the checked LoopCard.
7. Then Click the update button, its update to the panel.

Step 7: Filter devices and Show all

1. Do the Step 1.
2. Click Edit button to Enabling the LoopCard information’s.
3. Select the Device to filter, then click the Filter button

4. Its shows the filtered device information.


5. Then click the show all button its shows all the Device information.

Grouping
Group tab Contains three sub tabs are Zone Grouping, Logic Input and Output
Grouping, View. Groupings are based on the Group number.

Grouping:

Zone Grouping

Step1: select the grouping


1. On the Group Menu.
2. Select the Zone Tab.

Step2: To configure the Zone grouping to a panel


1. On the Group Menu
2. Do the Step1.
3. Click the Edit Button to Enable the Zone information.
4. Select the Zone Group number for Grouping.
5. Select the Loop Number to add Devices for Grouping.
6. It’s shown all the Input devices in the Input Devices List.
7. While clicking the devices in the device list, it’s added and shown in the Zone
grouped device list.
8. Select the prealarm modes either enable or disable.

9. Then click the update button to update the selected group information to the
panel or if the application in the disconnected mode its saves the information.
10. Do the step 2 for the entire zone grouping.
11. Configured this zone grouping in offline mode once panel connected to the
application then click the update all button to update the entire zone grouping
information to the panel.

Step3: Read a Zone grouping data from a Panel.

1. On the group tab.


2. Do the Step 1.
3. Click Edit button to Enabling the Zone information’s.
4. Press the Read group button it’s automatically read the all the zone
grouping information from the Panel.

Logic and output Grouping

Step1: select the grouping


1. On the Group Menu.
2. Select the Logic and Output Tab.

Step2: To configure the Logic Input & Output grouping to a panel


1. On the Group Menu
2. Do the Step1.
3. Click the Edit Button to Enable the Logic and output information.

4. Select the Logic number and output number for a corresponding Logic for
a Grouping.
5. Select the Loop Number to add Devices for Both the Grouping.
6. It’s shown all the Input devices and output devices in the Input Devices
List and Output List.
7. While clicking the input devices in the input device list, it’s added and
shown in the Logic grouped device list.
8. While clicking the output devices in the output device list, it’s added and
shown in the output grouped device list.
9. Select the Active count for a Logic Input Group and Output activated for,
Delay seconds, and Status of the Output group.
10. Then click the update button to update the selected group information to
the panel or if the application in the disconnected mode its saves the
information.
11. Do the step 2 for the entire grouping.
12. Configured this grouping in offline mode once panel connected to the
application then click the update all button to update the entire grouping
information to the panel.

Step3: Read a Logic Input & output grouping data from a Panel.

1. On the group tab.


2. Do the Step 1.
3. Click Edit button to Enabling the grouping information’s.
4. Press the Read group button it’s automatically read the all the Logic &
output grouping information from the Panel.

View
View tab is used for to view the entire configured group Combination and print the
necessary information.

Step1: To view all the Grouping


1. On the group tab
2. Select View Tab
3. Then select the Group name which you have to view.
4. Then click the view all Button.
5. It’s shown all the Grouping information.
6. And click the print button it print the Grouping information
7. It’s applicable for all the Grouping.

Step2: To view the grouping


1. On the group tab
2. Select View Tab
3. Then select the Group name which you have to view.
4. Then select the Group number which you have to view.
5. It’s shown all the Grouping information.
6. And click the print button it print the Grouping information
7. It’s applicable for all the Grouping.

Zone Grouping View

View should show the zone group number with devices and their options.

Logic Grouping View


View should show the Logic group number with devices and their corresponding
Output group with their Devices and their options.

Output Grouping View


View should show the Output group number with devices and their corresponding
input group with their Devices and their options.

Features
Features contain 5 types of features.

By selecting Features tabs it’s automatically retrieve panel information. By selecting


edit button it’s enabling Features information.

By select a Checkbox for enable status and Enter the Minutes or Seconds for the
corresponding Features. Then click an update button to update a panel.

Event History

Step 1: Event Credentials


1. On the Event tab.

2. Then enter the user id and the password.


3. UserID :Admin, Password : Eventslog@123
4. Then click the ok button to View the Events.

Step 2: Functionality of Events history.


1. On select the Event history menu.
2. Click the get events button to retrieve all the events from a panel.
3. And it’s shown in the format of Date, time, Events information.
4. And click the print button to print the events or click the export button to
export a data.
5. Clear button is used clear events backup from an Application not a Panel.

Report

Report1: Device not Configured in a Group


Its shows the LoopCard wise devices not configured or grouped to any Grouping.

Report 2: Device Information:


Its show the LoopCard wise device configured and number of Devices in an each
type.

Report 3: Configured Group


Its shows what are the groups are configured.

Other Features:

Program

Import
By selecting import Option, it‘s open a Open file Dialog Box, User select a
Corresponding file path to Import Data.

To import a data file should be in the format of Excel (.Xls) file. The File Content in
the format attached to this manual (Excel file).

Sample Excel Sheet Displayed and Given to this Manual. User should add necessary
Device information for corresponding Address and import it.

Make sure the import Excel Sheet format is same as the Export (.Xls) file
Format.

Export
By Selecting Export option lets you to select a Location for save a file. User should
select a Path to save a file. Default File name should be your Panel name.

Export file in the format of Excel sheet (.Xls).its contains all the Panel Configuration
information.

Edit
Edit Menu has a three sub menus are full mode, Add Panel, Panel option.

Full Mode

Is used to display the tree view and Configuration View.

Add Panel

Is used to add a new Panel under this Project .Each Project accept only 16 Panels.

Panel Option
Panel Option is used to configure the panel operation as With Loop sounder or with-out Loop
Sounder.

1. On select the Edit menu.


2. Select the Panel Option.
3. Enter the Panel number which wants to configure.
4. Checked the Loop Sounder Option.
5. Click the Update button to update a Option in to the Panel (Make Sure the
panel is connected to the Software.
6. Then disconnect the software to the panel.
7. Then switch off the Panel and Reconnect the software for further
Configuration.

Communication
Communication Menu contains connects and Disconnect option it’s used to connect a
panel and Disconnect from a panel.

Note:
Once connect the Software to the panel avoid using the panel manually.
After finished the configuration, disconnect the application and Restart the
Panel.

Exit
Exit Menu is used to Exit an application.
