Mr.

Chi’s
8th Grade
Integrated Science
Dear Students, Parents, & Guardians:

My name is Mr. Chi and I am excited very excited to welcome you and your student
into my science classroom! So a little bit about me, professionally, I graduated at Cal
Poly Pomona with a Civil Engineering degree with structural emphasis. I obtained my
teaching credential at Cal State Fullerton for intent on teaching physics and math. I
used to work for Southern California Edison and the city of LA Public works. Ever
since I was 17, my life has constantly been circled around science, math, and in
Rm 308
particular physics; whether it be in math applied physics or engineering physics.
Personally, I work with a lot of children and teens on the weekends at a gaming and
1-(714)-999-3667 toy store. I often share hobbies of my students and hope to start a positive
Office Hours: environment of play and learning.
 7:00AM-7:50AM
 7th Period Conference My classroom is indicative of preparing students for science practices and how real
 2:20PM-4:00PM world scientists apply these practices to their jobs. I always promote an inclusive and
positive classroom environment, both during school and after school. On top of
having students practice science skills and working on their academic growth, I am a
Chi_H@auhsd.us true believer of developing the students personally by encouraging, motivating, and
giving students the opportunity to collaborate with peers, as well as self-regulate, to
develop as a young professional.

My classroom is a safe and inclusive environment. Students are encouraged to make
observations, share their thoughts, and even make mistakes. Through their
experience, students are able to shape their knowledge by having a relatable and
personal experience with any topic. I always encourage parents to work with their
students. I want parents to be involved in their students’ education and participate
with them.

Since this is a 8th grade science class, we will be focusing heavily on physical science
in the beginning of the year, and slowly moving to life science at the end of the year.
We will be covering physics of motion, astronomy, electromagnetic spectrum, and
hereditary traits. This is to prepare them for 9th grade biology and any physical
science after.

You may contact me by email or by phone. I appreciate any comments, questions,

or concerns you may have about this class. If you would like to set up an
appointment, please emails or call me at (714) 999-3667. I look forward to meeting
and working with every single one of you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Chi
