Self Reflection

1. Discuss your use of class time. Be honest and reflective. Based on the below criteria,
what grade do you deserve on this portion of the rubric?
For this project, I could have definitely been more productive. I was often on my phone or
sitting around not using class all my time to the best of my advantage. I believe that if we as a
class were to use our time more productively the show would have been incredible rather than
good or ok. However, I also think that in the end, I was able to get motivated and play my part
and really get my
job is done. However, there was room for improvement in the stage and production set up.

21st Century Skills Reflection

The first 21st-century skill I used to rise to the occasion was adaptability. I used this by
changing the way I was doing things to make the show more professional and also more
refined.
My second 21st-century skill is curiosity/creativity/imagination. I used these skills by using a
“vision” to create a beautiful stage and production. When setting up the sheets and stage I had
to really look closely at what was aesthetically pleasing to the audience. Also while making this
production look nice I was also trying to make it convenient and functional.
The first skill I need improvement on is independent research and learning. When o was on
my own time I was mostly goofing off on my phone or just not doing the work I needed to do to
get the work done I needed to get done. I could have been far more productive in my own time.
My second 21st-century skill that needs improvement is initiative/resourcefulness. The reason
being that I was lacking the initiative to get my work done. I also never used the resources that
were available to me when they were available. This resulted in my scrambling at the last
minute to get everything done and done to the best I could in the given amount of time.

Project reflection
To begin this reflection I want to say this was amazing fun and challenging project.
I loved the job I was given because it’s what I really like to do. I love to design the outer layer of
the set, how it’s going to portray to the audience and what the audience might feel through the
different aspects of a set. When setting up the stage and the sheets I was thinking about
lighting, things that you want the audience to see, how you want them to see it, what you want
the audience to feel and how to make that feeling present, and many other little pieces. This is a
fun but very mind bobbling job and you have to be very on it and very focused especially when
setting up the final stage and during the show. Otherwise, the play has a good chance of falling
apart. One of the best moments in this play was when we finished and I knew that all the lights
and sets had worked.
With all the fun and ease of this project there where hard times. People disagreeing on ideas,
people not being productive and many other reasons. One of the hardest times during this
production was trying to find ways to stay busy when you have finished what you can do with
your job. A moment that was specifically hard was when we had to start rehearsals and had no
puppets. We all had to really kick into action to make things happen and truly come to life.
During this project, I grew by really working on effective collaboration with my peers and
making my self use my time productively. In the beginning of this project we really had a hard
time getting focused and into a momentum. For me, I really had the hardest time when there
wasn’t anything that I saw that I could do I would sit down on my phone till I was told to do.
In my future projects and in my life I will take the skills of being productive with my time and
making all the time I have count. I will also go the extra mile to find something that will help the
overall production run smoother and quicker, even if it’s not part of my “job”. While on some
occasions waiting till the last second can work it is always better to just get it done and work on
it in steps this will also make my life easier and flow in a more productive manner.
To answer the essential question why we study Shakespeare 400 years later it is because it is
a beautiful part of the English language and it has a meaning that is to be understood and
comprehended by the people who speak the English language. When we study Shakespeare
we are focusing on the meter to phrase that has been written and what the meaning is and the
double meaning Within the phrase. Overall Shakespeare is a beautiful language that shall
continue to be studied by all.
