Those baptized as adults, unless baptized with laying on of hands by a bishop, are also expected
to make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism in
the presence of a bishop and to receive the laying on of hands.
Reception of those from other Communions is a time in the life of the Church where we welcome
those who join St. John's and the Episcopal Church and formalize their relationship to the parish
and the Episcopal Church.
All of us who gather for worship on June 23rd will join in the Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows and
recommit ourselves to God's work of reconciliation and restoration.
On Sunday, May 12th following the 10am service I will meet with those interested in participating in
this service.
We will meet on five Sundays (May 19, 26, 2, 9, 16) following worship for teaching and discussion
about these commitments. Please know that while participation on each of the sessions is encour-
aged, I am willing to work with those who cannot make one of the sessions.
Please contact the parish office at office@reddoors.com and let us know that you will be joining us
so that we can prepare materials. There is no financial cost for the program and materials will be
available for those who register at the first class on May 19th.
I hope that you accept this invitation to join more deeply in the journey into relationship to God
and to God's Church.
Faithfully,
Linda Snyder
