COURSE DESCRIPTION
Planning and design of transportation facilities; road, rail, air and water transportation. CE 142 THV / THW1
TTh 11:30AM-1PM/1-2:30PM
PREREQUISITE : CE 141, GE 12 ICE 306B
Course Credit : 3.0 units
COURSE GOALS
LECTURER
Attendance
Attendance is required and will be checked. A student who is absent for more than 6 times will be given a grade of 5.0
if he or she does not drop the course. Note: The deadline for dropping subjects is on November 14 (Tue), 2017.
Course Requirements
Students will be evaluated on the basis of class participation, long exams and a final exam.
Class Participation (CP). Students are expected to actively participate in class discussions. Class participation
includes attendance, recitation, homework, problem sets, quizzes, and other class activities.
Long Exam (LE). There will be THREE long exams. Students are required to submit answer sheets at least a day
before the exam. Note: Schedule of exams will be announced at least 2 weeks before the exam. Queries on
grading of exam will be entertained for a period of one week after the exam result has been returned.
Final Exam (FE). A student is exempted from taking the Final Exam if the pre-final grade is at least 65%
(equivalent to 2.50), and all long exams have passing grades.
