STRASSMAYR BF 290

The STRASSMAYR BF 290 has been designed to solve all aspects of roadside work, such as road
widening, hard shoulder work or cable and pipeline trench filling. All different types of soil, gravel grit
and asphalt can be placed with the BF 290.
The machine has a lay down capacity of 300 tons per hour and is the versatile machine for road
builders and civil engineers.

The STRASSMAYR BF 290 is fitted with a HATZ 2 G 40 diesel engine and has a powerful hydraulic
system to operate the material belt. The strike of screed, individual angle of inclination, pavement
thickness can be adjusted as well.

The lay down capacity is hydraulically adjustable, as well as the angel of inclination, pavement
thickness, adjustment for the trucks delivering material, etc.

- all asphalt mixes,
- lean concrete mixes,
- soil,
- gravel,
- sand,
- others.

Wheel loader requirement: any brand from 70 KW engine power to push the road widener.
The lay down process of continuous 5 km / per day of side roadbed is no problem.
This system replaces the grader - or wheel excavator.

1. The STRASSMAYR BF 290 mounted at
a wheeled loader working on the
highway A1 near Hamburg in Germany.
The mounting plate fitted for the
quick-hitch of the carrier was
delivered with the machine.

2. The STRASSMAYR BF 290 mounted at

the tractor with additional hydraulic
circuit working on the city road near
Munich in Germany.
The operation of the machine was
realized by two people – the road
widener operator, and a tractor driver.

3. The STRASSMAYR BF 290 mounted at

the telescopic loader, working on the
highway A2 in Poland.
The picture shows the machine with
the left hand dump. This type of
machine is very useful by highway
contracts, when delivery of stone can be
done only from one side of the road.

4. The brush with hydraulic drive,

is an optional equipment ensuring the
clean edge of the road.

Another optional equipment offering with

the STRASSMAYR BF 290 is a special
transport belt with higher temperature
resistance, which enables paving of
hot asphalt.
