MARKET ANALYSIS
Market size

With automation swiftly picking up as a trend across sectors, India’s surgical robotics market is
estimated to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent between 2017 and
2025 to hit the size of $350 million, compared with $64.9 million in 2016.

Among some of the key triggers for this growth will be the increasing incidence rate of chronic
diseases, a rise in geriatric population, and more demand of advanced technologies, including
minimally invasive surgeries and miniature robotics.

Further, there is likely to be a substantial push coming in the form of funding from various
governmental organizations for research & development (R&D) activities in the next-generation
surgical robotic systems.

A new marketing intelligence report by BIS Research suggests that the prospects for the
surgical robotics market in India in the coming years would be significantly higher than the
global average – it estimates the global market would expand at 12 per cent to touch $12.6
billion, against India’s 20 per cent rate during the same period.

At present, India has over 50 players in the market, with Intuitive Surgical Inc, Accuray Inc,
Mazor Robotics Ltd Med Robotics Corporation, MedTech SA, Renishaw plc, Stryker
Corporation, Synaptive Medical Inc and Titan Medical Inc being some of the major players.

The growth seen in India’s healthcare industry, especially with the coming of corporate hospital
chains like Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare, Max Healthcare and others, is another factor that
is expected to boost the surgical robotics market in the country.

Apollo Hospitals had earlier said that surgeries conducted with robots increased accuracy levels
and reduced the need for more surgeons in the operation theatre, thereby allowing hospitals to
provide care to more people.

Among the benefits of the robotic surgery treatment over open surgery are a shorter
hospitalization duration, lower post-surgery discomfort, faster recovery time and return to
normalcy, smaller incisions resulting in reduced infection risks, reduced blood loss and 10 per
cent less transfusions, and minimal surgical scarring on the body, the report says.

Investments/Developments

 The union cabinet on economic affairs approved new skill-development programs with a
funding of INR 4,455 crore. To SANKALP (skills acquisition and knowledge awareness for
livelihood promotion)

 And INR 2,200 crore to strive (skill strengthening for industrial value enhancement)

 The government has allocated INR 3 crore to Education and Research Network, India’s
autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information
Technology MeitY

 INR 1 crore each will also be given to 15 academic or institutional partners to fund the
creation of resource centers and test beds.

Government Initiatives

 The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), sourced from an RTI, revealed
that from the 8 lakh candidates trained in the year 2016 through non-scheme skilling
programs in 2016–17, less than half secured jobs

 NSDC offers monetary rewards such as a loan, equity or grants to the training centers as
a motivation so that placement rates become better

 In July 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the initiative, designed
to “create convergence across sectors and states in terms of skill training activities

 In October 2016, the union cabinet on economic affairs approved two new skill-
development programs with a combined funding of INR 6,655 crore. INR 4,455 crore
will go to SANKALP (Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood
Promotion) and INR 2,200 crore to STRIVE (Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value
Enhancement)

 To individuals who cannot afford the cost of training upfront but wish to skill up, the
government has established a special skilling loan for them

 In year 2018, the Andhra Pradesh state government approved the first-of-its-kind IoT
policy to become an IoT hub by 2020.

Roadmap Ahead

 India has started considering the next onslaught of technologies and shows readiness to
prepare for it. Yet, most of the government backing and policies are under construction.
From waiting on experts to comment on AI to investigating the rollout of 5G, India’s trust
with new technologies is still in nascent stages

 The country should try to implement the policies before the technologies come in. Robust
frameworks could lead the way in terms of establishing the use of the tech not only from a
government perspective but also from the perspective of companies and consumers. This
is especially important because much of the emerging technologies, from big data
analytics to artificial intelligence, rely on massive data banks to hone their systems. The
government’s role could be to offer access to large public databases and lay down the
rules for proper, legal data integrity and use

 The Indian government’s plan of developing 100 smart cities in the country, for which
INR 7,060 crore has been allocated in the current budget could lead to a massive and
quick expansion of IoT in the country

 By 2020, the industrial automation industry is set to surpass INR 197 billion[25] in value,
growing at a CAGR of 12 percent for the second half of this decade. The governmental
body is aiming to create an IoT industry worth $1.5 billion by 2020.

REGULARITY AND BEHAVIOUR

Discipline and punctuality are two most essential traits required in a professional to be
successful. Discipline ensures individuals behave in an acceptable way at the workplace and also
adhere to the rules and regulations of the organization. Individuals who are disciplined are not
only successful professionally but also in their personal lives. Disciplined employees are liked
and appreciated by not only their superiors but also other fellow workers. Such employees climb
the success ladder quickly as compared to individuals who attend office just for the sake of it and
they often find themselves out of the system in no time. Misbehaving at the workplace spoils the
entire work culture eventually leading to zero or very less productivity. You need to understand
that there is a difference between office and home and you just can’t behave in the same way at
work as you behave at home. Discipline is crucial at workplace as it ensures employees behave
in a decent way and also maintain the decorum of the workplace.

Punctuality ensures employees attend office daily and also complete their working hours.
Punctual employees seldom take leaves and are assets to an organization. Employees who take
leaves after every alternate day are mere burdens on the system and do not contribute much to
the overall productivity of the organization. Managers need to ensure that their team members
reach office on time and do not unnecessarily sit till late. It is always better to leave on time and
come back fresh and completely recharged the next day. Believe me; individuals who are not
punctual are often not reliable.

Discipline and punctuality make you a confident professional. You are not only in the good
books of your superiors but also become a source of inspiration for your fellow workers.
Employees who concentrate on their work rather than interfering in their colleague’s finish their
work on time and do not have to sit beyond the working hours. If you take a leave every week, it
is but obvious you will be called on a holiday to finish your pending assignments. Trust me,
being disciplined and punctual allow you to enjoy your work and office never becomes a boring
place. Disciplined employees seldom find their names dragged in controversies or nasty politics.
Trust me; no one would respect you if you are not disciplined and punctual.
I joined Times Globacom Pvt. Ltd. on 2nd january,2018 and attended the office regularly and
behavior in the office was good enough. I strictly adhered to the rules and regulations of the
organization. I never deviated from my work profile and worked according to the situation and
the organization demanded from me.

I was constantly reliable rather I generally achieve the workplace before time and working for
the 9hrs-10hrs span on standard premise and now and again more than that if the circumstance
and the Organization required it. I constantly regarded my seniors and the clients

I constantly arranged my work ahead of time on everyday schedule and conveyed 100% as
indicated by the prerequisites of the association. My participation is over 95% amid the activity
till date. I once in a while take any leaves there is no grumbling with respect to my conduct in the
association till date. Everybody is content with my working.
DETAILED EXPERIENCE

RELATING TO PROFILE

The experience I had till now in this sector (Education) is very good. The sector is growing at a

approach towards the marketing/sales business.

Also, interaction with clients helped me in learning to deal with various people and how to
clearly outline my requirements and at the same time insure correct specifications.

Meeting higher executives from different sectors also provided me exposure to the corporate

ANALYZING WEAK AREAS OF PERFORMANCE

Before all else I was minimal terrified of occasion the executives as it was a totally new profile
which I needed to learn it is exceptionally tremendous space. Be that as it may, at that point step
by step I began getting the privilege tutoring from my supervisor and she helped me to beat this
dread and gave me all the help.

With appropriate preparation I had the capacity to get a handle on the things rapidly and ready to
deal with my learning modules such that I had the capacity to become familiar with all the
required modules in extremely less time allotment.

One of my shortcomings was in the zone of exceed expectations utilization and as we had a great
deal of work in exceed expectations it was getting to be troublesome for me to adapt to it.
Henceforth the absolute first thing I did was to learn advance exceed expectations ideas like v-
query, turn table and utilizing capacities which made my work much more straightforward and
helped me dissect huge volumes of information effortlessly and correlations also.

With entry of time and experience I have had the capacity to defeat my shortcomings through a
mix of help of my supervisor and group.

Money weakness

When I was a child, I probably asked how much money someone made or something cost, and
my mother or another adult reprimanded you. Because this happened at such a young age, the
lesson became ingrained in your psyche: talking about money is impolite.

That might be true in many situations, but it’s not in sales. In fact, if I am uncomfortable talking
about money, they’re not going to make any.

Self-limiting beliefs

“Selling is hard.” “Prospects always tell the truth.” “Prospects who think it over will eventually
buy from me.”
Every salesperson has as many as 60 beliefs that either support the selling process (“I have the
ability to be effective with company presidents”) or sabotage (” I don’t like making cold calls”)
it. The collection of self-limiting beliefs is what I refer to as the Record Collection. Ineffective
salespeople often have 10 or more of these self-limiting records while more effective salespeople
have very few

Need for approval

Need for approval became a weakness when I care more about being liked than they care about
closing business. Taking criticism or bad attitudes personally is never a good thing, but it’s
especially dangerous in sales, where reps regularly deal with rejection.

Not to mention that in order for me to truly help a prospect, they’ll need to ask some hard
questions that risk the prospect’s camaraderie. But that’s okay -- in my opinion, salespeople
should strive to be respected, not liked.

Controlling emotions

Sales reps are people, and people sometimes let their emotions get the best of them. If I get an
unsavory response from a prospect -- “this isn’t a good fit for me,” or “I am not interested in
this,” for example -- they might let their feelings of disappointment tune out the rest of the
conversation.

And this is a mistake because, as I mentioned above, prospects aren’t always honest. Maybe they
in fact could benefit from your product, but they’re saying they’re not interested because they’re
busy working on a time-sensitive project. Not interested right now is different from not
interested ever.

If you let your emotions take over, you might not pick up on the openings they set up for you. In
fact, you might be so distracted by your emotions that you don’t even listen to what they say
next.

Too trusting

In this case there is an answer I’m looking for -- skeptical is better. And the reason is because
prospects actually aren’t always honest. In fact, they lie quite a bit.
Before you get up in arms, let me clarify that these lies aren’t insidious. Think about how many
times you’ve told a salesperson you were busy when you weren’t. Or a scenario when you
claimed to need time to “think it over” when you knew you had no intention of buying any time
soon. Most of these lies are told by prospects in order to spare our feelings or avoid
confrontation. So, they’re more like white lies, but untruths nonetheless.

Of course, these little lies can prevent a sale from happening. Sales reps that aren’t too trusting
know how to make the sale even when a prospect isn’t being completely forthright and honest.

Fear of rejection

The only thing a salesperson truly controls is who they spend their time with. But, if they can’t
control their own fear of rejection, it will control them.

Salespeople who are afraid of being rejected won’t pick up the phone, won’t ask tough questions,
and might even be afraid to ask a customer for their business for fear of getting a “no.”

To overcome this fear, salespeople need to practice getting “no’s”. They need to embrace the
value of getting them. For a prospect that does need what you have, a “no” might just be an
objection or a “No, not now” or a “No, I’m having a horrible morning and I don’t want to talk
about this, but I’ll talk to you after lunch if you can call me then.”

Self-limiting record collection

“If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” – Henry Ford

There are certain scripts that we tell ourselves over and over again about things we think we are
good at and not good at. You can think of these scripts as little bits of songs that people sing to
themselves in their head – a record collection so to speak.

When records play in salespeople’s heads, they can either help or hinder sales success. The ones
that hinder, we refer to as self-limiting records. For example, your salespeople may tell
themselves:
 I can’t talk to CEO.
 I won’t pick up the phone.
 My sales cycle is long, I can’t shorten it.
 I can’t sell without great sales collateral.
 I don’t have time for prospecting.

Weak Qualification: The real culprit may, in fact, be a lack of prospecting. Too opportunities
can cause starvation, and everything looks like filet mignon to a starving person. When your
qualification is weak, your results will follow suit. Don’t spend time with people who won’t
benefit from buying whatever it is you sell.

Weak Approach: When you start with your company’s history, board of directors, products, and
services, it is clear that you have little value to create yourself. This is the death knell for
salespeople. Start from a strategic level of value, the reason your client should change.

Weak Discovery: When your discovery only elicits the presenting problem, it is weak. When
discovery doesn’t take into account all of the necessary stakeholders whose insight you need, it is
problematic. Here you lose to people with better chops who see the problem and solution more
clearly. Improve your understanding of what needs to change and why, as well as the skill set to
elicit these things.

Weak Chops: If you don’t have ideas, insights, and situational knowledge, you have weak
chops. This means instead of occupying the role of peer and trusted counsel, you occupy some
lesser role. Your personal and professional growth here is imperative.

Weak Control of the Process: One way you make selling more difficult is to not know what
commitment your client needs to make next and how to gain that commitment. Skipping steps
and letting the client skips steps in the sales conversation will cost you dearly. Learn to control
the process.

Weak Language Choices: When asked about what made his company different, one salesperson
I heard answered, “We’re just better than everyone.” Maybe it was true, but the language he
chose did nothing to further his case. Work on your ability to master powerful communication.
Weak Command of Critical Conversations: A critical conversation, like justifying the delta
between your price and your competitors, is crucial to success. When you can’t have the
conversation around why your dream client should invest more, that weakness will cause you to
lose to a lower-priced competitor.

If you have a weakness, do the work to improve until it no longer costs you deals. Spend the time
to improve in all of the areas that make you professional salesperson and someone worth buying
from.

Every successful sales person should have four major strengths: Ambition, commitment,
responsibility, and outlook. With those four major strengths, usually come five major
weaknesses. Overcoming these weaknesses results in a very successful sales person.

Here are five of Sandler’s rules to overcome these weaknesses:

 Time Kills Sales. Never leave a sale without a yes, no, or clarity of moving towards the
next step.
 We all have a high need for approval. Be nurturing, but don’t worry about being liked or
loved. You only have to be gutsy for 3 seconds at a time when it comes to a sales call.
 Deal with the money early on. Don’t let your concept of money hold you back. When
money becomes a problem, it’s because we let it…Quantify PAIN.
 Be specific and do not get emotionally involved. Do not have many personal
relationships with your prospects or clients. Be an objective third party on a sales call.
 Do not have a negative mindset, excuses for failure, poor beliefs, or head-trash. Have
beliefs that support the system.

Everyone has weaknesses, but as a sales person you cannot afford to have any weaknesses
that could affect your business. Overcome your weaknesses with Sandler’s five rules and
manage your sales success. Let your strengths of ambition, commitment, responsibility, and
outlook shine. Don’t let your weaknesses hold you back.
