WASHINGTON. D.C‘ 20301-1400

MORANDW FOR DEPUTY CHIEF. COMMUNITY RELATIONS TEAM

NATIONAL GUARD BUREAU
SUBJECT: National Guard Involvement in the Production of
the Feature Motion Picture 'G.I. Jane'I

This is to confirm the details of our conference call

on April 5, regarding the filming of portions of the feature
motion picture “G.I. Jane“ on property owned by the Florida
state National Guard. Since we have not approved military
support, it is appropriate that no federal equipment or
personnel he provided specifically to support the
production.

However, DOD equipment. personnel. or property - for

reasons unrelated to the production - may from time to time
become included within the parameters of an exterior or
interior shot. This is entirely acceptable under these
circumstances. There is no requirement to reposition
equipment or oblige the production company to change camera
angles to avoid including DOD assets in the filming.
