Voices of the people

Anti-Trump Protests

The social impact that a person has in society is very great, now if many people
come together for the collective good and with the aim of changing their reality, the
magnitude of the impact will be impressive.

The demonstrations originated after Donald Trump won the US elections on

November 8, 2016, the demonstrations were in several cities such as: San
Francisco ,Washington, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Austin, Portland, Los Angeles,
New York, Seattle and San Diego.(El mundo,2016).The demonstrations were
mainly conformed by Latin American residents, students and activists, the main
causes were the controversial statements that Trump gave in his campaigns, in
several speeches fed hatred towards immigrants apologizing in patriotism,
especially Mexican citizens, and threatened to build a wall along the entire United
States-Mexico border. Trump also uses his rhetoric to promote racism and
misogynist, and on many occasions he demonstrated his ideology in attitudes
toward children and women in his campaigns and daily life. Several people stated
that Trump has policies very similar to those of Adolf Hitler. (Smith-Spark ,Smith &
Mackintonsh,2018)

Trump in his campaign promised a series of harsh actions not only against
terrorists and criminals, but also against foreigners, refugees and Muslims, these
statements spread and created a relationship between punishment and
xenophobia, this feeling occurs mainly in White Americans, because they believe
themselves superior in terms of race, ethnicity and intellect. (Baker, 2018)

There were also demonstrations in various countries around the world such as
Mexico, Argentina, England, the Philippines, and Brazil.

Donald Trump's response was practically nil, he said that they were unjust, and he
ignored all these accusations and continued with his entire mandate and has now
created controversies for all decisions against the common welfare, and he started
the construction of the wall, has deported thousands of people causing separation
from families, more violence in the streets and thousands of people begging to
have a good future.

Although Donald Trump continues with the mandate full of discrimination, if people
continue to join their voices, every day will take more strength and they will be able
to change all these injustices and with the support of different parts of the world the
time will come when the Trump commandment will come to an end, thanks to the
worldwide movement that has been generated in opposition to the Nazi ideology
version 2.0. (Smith-Spark, Smith & Mackintonsh, 2018).

The following famous phrase expresses the main idea of the text:

The quote, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” (Gandhi) to
me means if you want to see change in the world you must not start with
telling others what to do. You begin with yourself; live the life you wish to live.
(Be the Change, 2016)
