1. PLOT: summarize the major events in the story-

 This is the story of Niño one little boy who discovers the magic of masks. Every year
I dream of wearing a mask in the fiesta of being something else for just one day.
“Papa you will wear a hunter mask can I wear a mask this year?” said Niño When
you are older Niño said his father. I can’t wait until next year. If I make a mask of
my own, then maybe I could be a conejo, or buho or calavera or ciervo or caiman or
el diablo or the tiger but I really want to be is a perro. All day I watch the mask-
maker carve. That night I cut a tree while the full moon floats over my head. Perro,
are you there died in the wood? Here is you ears, nose, smiling mouth, eyes, your
pink nosse and ears and brown rith white coat. Red tongue and black eyes, now I
am perro. Who is this perro? Will this perro catch tiger tomorrow said mom and
dad. Today I will catch tiger, I am ready for you tiger, catch me catch me if you can
sad tiger up here in the clouds, over here. I am catching you tiger, out here out her
no corn this year catch me catch me said tiger. Run perro, we will catch you tiger,
you won’t escape tiger said the people. Viva perro, there will corn this year, run
perro said the people while Niño catch the tiger. Look it is Niño, so small but so fast,
ole Niño, viva Niño said the people. Here I am Niño again, but for one day, I was
something else. And the corn grows and grows and grows and is taller than ever
before.

 The text is describing the reactions of Niño’s parents when they saw him with the
mask. The illustration shows their reaction and the other illustration show how Niño
have a dream that he is catching the tiger.

Both illustrations are different, both pages have a white and black border, the page is
place just on top of on the page.
