1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 E-Commerce

Although the terms e-commerce and e-business are often used interchangeably, there are
differences. E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services on the Internet or other
computer network. Any brick and mortar store can become an e-commerce business by adding a
virtual storefront with an online catalogue. In most cases, e-business refers exclusively to
Internet businesses, but it may also refer to any business that uses Internet technology to
improve productivity and profitability

1.2 E-Business

Business transactions that involve the exchange of money are covered by the term e-
commerce. E-business includes all aspects of running a business that sells goods and services,
including marketing, earning and retaining customers, procurement, developing business
partners and customer education. In order to be successful, e-commerce and e-businesses must
have quality storefronts that are simple to navigate and peruse, with accurate and thorough
catalogue information. E-business became an extension of e-commerce to encompass all
aspects of businesses that function online. E-business involves e-commerce, but e-Commerce
does not cover all aspects of e-business..

1.3 Business Models

E-Commerce or Electronics Commerce business models can generally be categorized in the


following categories:-

Business - to - Business (B2B)

Business - to - Consumer (B2C)

Consumer - to - Consumer (C2C)

Consumer - to - Business (C2B)

Government - to - Citizen (G2C)

3 ANALYSIS

3.1 Need of Study


Nowadays retail stores are facing more competition in retailing business. Good store design
increase the visiting of more customers in to the store and increase the store goodwill, and
price also plays major factor to use the customer giving preference and selection of the store.
And as industry research has shown, there is much need to know the customer expectations,
customer preferences and their store choice’s(features) and we will find out solutions for
designing effective store which will getting more customers and getting more profits.
3.2 Scope of Study
The supplementary specification applies to online shopping system. This specification defines
the non-functional requirement of the system such as:
FUNCTIONALITY
Since it stand alone application, one or more user may use it at a time.
USABILITY
Some broad goals of usability are the presentation of information and choices in a clear and
concise way, a lack of ambiguity and the placement of important items in appropriate
areas. Another important element of web usability is ensuring that the content works on
various devices and browsers.

3.3 objective
Easy retrieval of data will be made possible to recorr
This will be much less time consuming comparing to existing system.
The online system will be facility or cosmetics lovers.

3.4 Data Gathering

Primary data was collected through the survey method that is questionnaire with closed ended
questions.
Secondary data was collected thorough various websites and articles available on
the internet.

3.5 Data Analysis

A total of 30 people participated in the survey. A key finding from the survey was that (43.3%) of
participants recommended online shopping. (80%) people reported the risk of not getting what I
paid for is important in online shopping, goods were more expensive than sold on retail stores
(26.7%), internet reduces monetary cost (60%) and (56.7%) people hesitate to give their
credit card credentials.
(40%) people reported they get information about the product accurate and sufficient. (60%)
people prefer online shopping only if prices are lower than actual price and (78.4%) people
online shopping is risky in Pakistan.

4 DESIGN
There are 4 modules in this application:
▪ Customer
▪ Employee
▪ Admin
▪ Security and authentication

4.1 Customer

The customer module contains information about the products and offers and the price of the products.
Before that the customer has to register in this application for this registration form is developed the new
users must register and can continue the shopping.

4.2 Employee

The Employee module contains Employees who are working in the company. The details of every
employee are stored in this page. The Employees process the data of the customers and their orders.

4.3 Admin

The admin module contains user’s details and category entry, sub-category entry and Product master. The
manufactures list of products and their details are shown at left side.

4.4 Security and Authentication

The security and authentication module contains about access privileges to customers and employees
for various operations. The security is very important for online transactions to

6 CONCLUSION

As 78.4% people reported that online shopping is risky in Pakistan,


We will consider Quality Assurance factor at highest priority to minimize this risk.
56.7% people hesitate to give their credit card credentials,
We will increase the security of website to build trust factors for consumers.
58% people prefer online shopping only if online prices are lower than actual
price, We will always give some discounts to consumers.
78.6 % people thinks risk of not getting what I paid for in refraining/keeping you from shopping on
the internet is important so We introduced 7 days return policy to minimize this ratio.
The central concept of the application is to allow the customer to shop virtually using the Internet
and allow customers to buy Perfumes and Cosmetics.
The information pertaining to the products are stores on an RDBMS at the server side (store).The
Server process the customers and the items are shipped to the address submitted by them.
The end user of this product is a departmental store where the application is hosted on the web
and the administrator maintains the database. The application which is deployed at the
customer database, the details of the items are brought forward from the database for the
customer view based on the selection through the menu and the database of all the products are
updated at the end of each transaction.
