Terms & Condition

Before participating in the competition, you must read the terms and conditions, to which you comply. Participating in the competition, by sending your
design, you accept the terms and conditions. Any violation of the terms and conditions involves immediate exclusion from the competition.

1. Eligibility
• World’s Smallest Masterpiece Contest is organised by Schneider Electric Malaysia.
• The competition is only open to residents of Malaysia (acting in their own personal capacity) who are at least 16 years old (on the date they submit
an entry to the competition)
• Directors, officers and employees of Schneider Electric Malaysia, its respective parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising,
promotional and judging agencies, business partners involved in the Promotional Activity, entities (businesses and natural persons) engaged in
the development, production or distribution of materials for the Promotional Activity (“Organizers”), and their immediate family members (parent,
child, sibling, and spouse of each) of and/or persons living in the same household as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to
participate. Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to seek supporting documentation to verify an individual’s eligibility to participate and
to issue the prize/gift to another participant(s) if the individual cannot prove, upon Schneider Electric Malaysia’s demand, that the individual has
met and satisfied all the requirements and has complied with Schneider Electric Malaysia Promotional Activity Terms and Conditions.
• By entering the competition, participants confirm that they are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to claim the prize. Schneider Electric
Malaysia may require participants to provide proof that they are eligible to enter the competition at any time.
• Entries must not have previously been submitted in any competition, won an award or prize of any kind and published through any medium.
• Participants must submit an original work that does not contain, incorporate or otherwise use any content, material or element that is owned by a
third party or entity.
• Entries that contravene intellectual or industrial property rights will be disqualified. Participants will be liable for claims by third parties resulting
from the contravention. The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any contravention.
• Entries must not include content which is derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, disparaging, libellous or contain any content that is
inappropriate, indecent, sexual, profane, tortuous, slanderous, discriminatory in any way, or that promotes hatred or harm against any group or
person, or otherwise does not comply with the theme and spirit of the contest.

2. How to Enter
• Entries must be submitted via email to schneider.avataron@gmail.com or via www.schneider-electric.com.my/avataron by 30 April 2018
with participant’s personal details listed as below:

II. Identity Card Number
III. Email Address
IV. Contact Number
V. As Professional or as Non-Professional
(and state the organisation/company/institute/university name)
VI. Design Rationale and Concept
• Professional participants will be judged against other professionals and non-professionals against other non-professionals and students.
• Participants can submit as professional who are a full time working class adult or member of an organization/company, regardless the industry or
working field.
• Participants can submit as a non-professional if you do not fall under any of the above (Professional) categories. Students can submit in as non-
professionals if you are currently a full-time or part-time student. A student of any subject can qualify.
• Participants must only submit their artwork in a JPEG format with 300 dpi within the downloadable template (download link) prepared by
Schneider Electric Malaysia.
• There is no fixed theme on this competition.
• Receipt of entries will be acknowledged through an automated return email and all entry information will be retained by the Schneider Electric
Malaysia.
• Neither Schneider Electric Malaysia nor any of its employees, agents or representatives will be responsible for the non-receipt and/or non-
inclusion of entries in the competition as a result of being lost, late, illegible, incomplete, invalid, or because of technical failures or otherwise,
including such failure which is within the control of Schneider Electric Malaysia or its employees, agents or representatives.
• The winners will be required to confirm in writing that they have read, understood, and complied with the terms and conditions of this prize
draw, and may be required to provide proof of eligibility (including, but not limited to, proof of identity, proof of age and/or proof of residency), as
necessary. The proof of eligibility that will be considered suitable for verification is at the Schneider Electric Malaysia’s discretion.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to cancel, alter and/or amend the competition at any stage if deemed necessary in its own opinion
and entirely at its own discretion, or if any circumstances arise outside of the Schneider Electric Malaysia’s control.
• All submissions by participants are non-returnable and shall remain the property of the Schneider Electric Malaysia. Participants shall not use the
same entry for other purposes unless with the permission of the Schneider Electric Malaysia.
• Proof of air-mailing or posting of the entry form is not proof of receipt.
• There is no purchase necessary by you to enter the competition and there is no charge for submitting an entry.
• There is no limit on the number of entries an individual can submit. Only one winning entries is only entitled to a maximum of one prize in this Contest.

3.
Winner Selection
• Three (3) winners from each non-professional and professional categories will be selected from all eligible entries received by 30 April 2018.
• The decision of the panel of judges will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
• By entering the competition, participants confirm that they have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, and by the decisions
of Schneider Electric Malaysia, which are final in all matters relating to the competition. Any breach of these terms and conditions will result in the
forfeiture of the prize. No correspondence will be entered into.
• The winning entry may be subject to minor alterations or adjustments by Schneider Electric Malaysia or its agents, including, but not limited to, in
order to ensure practicality of use.
• Winners must be available to meet with Schneider Electric Malaysia’s representatives once notified and to supply final approved files on a date
Schneider Electric Malaysia may specify for this purpose.
• Shortlisted participants from the Preliminary Judging will be notified on Schneider Electric Malaysia Facebook Page. They are required to
present their design ideas to the panel of judges at the Final Round Judging. Absentees will be automatically disqualified.
• Entries will be judged based on:
I. Originality
II. Informational Content
III. Artistic and Visual Impact

4. Contest Period
• This contest will run from 1 March 2018 to 30 April 2018.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia will not be held responsible or accept any entries past the dateline, or are damage, corrupted, incomplete.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the contest period at any at any time without any prior notice to any
party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by Schneider Electric Malaysia, any participation in the Contest during the extended
period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.

5. Prizes
• A total of only six (6) winners will be selected to receive the prizes, listed as below:
Non-Professional Category
• 1st Prize : RM 3000 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy + Design to Be Schneider Electric’s collection
• 2nd Prize : RM 2000 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy
• 3rd Prize : RM 800 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy

Professional Category
• 1st Prize : RM 10,000 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy + Design to Be Schneider Electric’s collection
• 2nd Prize : RM 5000 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy
• 3rd Prize : RM 2000 + Honorable Mentions + Trophy

• The top ten (10) best designs will be showcased during Archidex 2018, and be featured on Schneider Electric Malaysia Facebook Page.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. No
substitution or transfer of prizes is permitted except as provided herein.
• The prizes stated above are non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash or other alternative is available. The prize may not be claimed by a
third party on your behalf. Schneider Electric Malaysia does not accept any responsibility if you are unable to take up the prize.
• Winners are responsible for all taxes, fees, surcharges, insurance, airfare, hotel, ground transportation, meals, gratuities, personal expenses,
incidentals and other expenses not expressly listed above.

6. Notification of Winner
• Schneider Electric Malaysia will endeavour to notify the winner before July 2018. If the winner does not respond to our notification prior to date as
Schneider Electric Malaysia specifies for this purpose, Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and the prize
will be forfeited and an alternative winner will be selected. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.

7. Other Conditions
• By participating in the competition, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Schneider Electric Malaysia and its representatives, prize
providers and their respective employees, associated agencies and companies, anyone professionally connected with this competition, from any
liability for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special, or consequential loss), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether
or not arising from any persons negligence) in connection with any breach by you of these terms and conditions.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this competition without prior notice in the event of
circumstances arising beyond its control that makes it necessary to do so.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the operation of the
competition, or to be acting in breach of these terms and conditions and/or in any way that is inconsistent with the spirit of the competition.
• The winner may be required to participate in publicity arranged by the Promoter or its agents.
• Insofar as is permitted by applicable law, neither Schneider Electric Malaysia, its representatives, prize providers nor their respective employees,
associated agencies and companies or anyone professionally connected with this competition, will in any circumstances be responsible or liable
to any entrant and/or the winner in connection with this competition. Without prejudice to the foregoing generality, and insofar as is permitted by
applicable law, neither Schneider Electric Malaysia, its representatives, prize providers nor their respective employees, associated agencies and
companies or anyone professionally connected with this competition accepts any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring
as a result of the winner taking up the prize.
• Any changes related to the competition i.e. terms and conditions, cancellation, venue, date and time will be announced online on Schneider
Electric Malaysia Facebook Page.
 
8. Intellectual Property Rights
• By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree that, in the event that you are the winner of the competition, you
hereby (with effect from the date of submission of your competition entry) assign to Schneider Electric Malaysia all your intellectual property rights
with full title guarantee and waive all moral rights in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry.
• If you are the winner of the competition, you agree that, if requested by Schneider Electric Malaysia, you will take such steps and actions
(including, but not limited, the signing of relevant documents) as Schneider Electric Malaysia may reasonably request in order to ensure that
Schneider Electric Malaysia receives the full benefit of the assignation stated above.
• By submitting a competition entry, you represent, warrant and undertake to Schneider Electric Malaysia that your entry is exclusively your own
work and does not comprise or incorporate any copyright or other intellectual property rights owned by any other person. It is not defamatory or
immoral and does not infringe any third-party rights and/or any agreements to which you are a party.
• Schneider Electric Malaysia reserves the right to publicise any submitted entry.

9. Participants’ Information
• Schneider Electric Malaysia will process information about you in accordance with its Privacy and Cookies Policy.
• If you are the winner of the competition, you agree that Schneider Electric Malaysia may use your name, image and town or county of residence
to announce the winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.
