Transcript/ Attendance Reflection

I believe that my transcript is not a good representation of my abilities. I have a

4.08 GPA but I believe I am more than what my grades show. I have worked hard for my

current GPA, however, grades only represent a small portion of what anyone is. I think in

terms of being able to retain, memorize and know information for a future job, it shows

the kind of student I am. I do know that any job requires a certain amount of

memorization and it is vital for my future field, law. I think this will help me greatly as I will

have a knowledge base to look at the broader picture for cases. However, I am much

more than what my transcript shows.

Over the last two years, I have become a leader, dedicated community member

and representative for my fellow students. I know my transcript does not show that.

Organizations I have joined like the Youth Council and being Senior Class President has

improved my leadership skills more than I have imagined. From being in the Youth

Council, I gained the abilities to speak to large crowds, work with others in an organized

manner and think outside the box on how to manage city funding. Traits like being able

to think outside the box and being able to speak to large crowds will directly aid my

future career in any profession I choose. As Senior Class President, I had to become a

leader, work with deadlines and learn to rely on others for help. It was a hard thing for

me to realize I need to rely on others for help but I did learn this was necessary to

become a successful leader. These abilities will show as a grow and develop as a future

professional. My transcript shows me as an intelligent, hard working student but it does

not show me in other lights.

Similar to my transcript, my attendance record does not accurately portray my

capabilities and dedication. I do not have perfect attendance. However, there is multiple

reasons for my absences. One reason is because of my involvement. I have missed

days on my attendance sheet but most of them were because of extracurricular activities

like track, leadership and other clubs. I also have a few days due to family situations. I

had to drive my father to get an eye surgery for a few days this year and it shows up on

my attendance record. Examples like these are the reason why my attendance record

do not accurately describe me.

Both the transcript and attendance record are great way to describe an outside

view of myself. However, it only describes the a small portion of myself. I am more than

what it shows. I am dedicated, intelligent and strive to lead.
