MECHANICAL
AIR SYSTEMS
Mechanical Air System is a
system of removing heat and
moisture from the interior of an
occupied space, to improve the
comfort of occupants. Air
conditioning can be used in both
domestic and commercial
environments.

FANS
A fan is a
powered machine used to create
flow within a fluid, typically
a gas such as air. A fan consists
of a rotating arrangement of
vanes or blades which act on the
air.

The rotating assembly of blades and hub is known as

an impeller, a rotor, or a runner. Usually, it is contained
within some form of housing or case.

An air conditioner is a system
or a machine that treats air in a
defined, usually enclosed area
via a refrigeration cycle in which
warm air is removed and
replaced with cooler and more
humid air.

EVAPORATIV
E COOLERS
An evaporative cooler is a device that
cools air through the evaporation of
water. Evaporative cooling differs from
typical air conditioning systems, which
use vapor-compression refrigeration
cycles. Evaporative cooling uses the
fact that water will absorb a relatively
large amount of heat in order to
evaporate.

PROS CONS
- Energy Efficient - Not best for
- Air Filtration humid regions
- Eco – Friendly - Pads need to
- Minimal Repair kept moist
- Ease of constantly with
Maintenance water.
- Can be plugged
anywhere else.
3 TYPES OF EVAP.
To dive a little deeper into the ventilation of your portable air conditioner, you will
COOLERS
notice that you have two common hose configurations to choose from.

Single-Hose AC Units: This design uses

the same hose as both intake and exhaust
for air. While it will still cool the space
you’re using it in, it will have to work
harder to do so, and is not as efficient as a
dual-hose air conditioner.

To dive a little deeper into the ventilation of your portable air conditioner, you will
COOLERS
notice that you have two common hose configurations to choose from.

Dual-Hose AC Units: This design has one

intake hose and one exhaust hose. Due to
having two separate hoses, this type of
portable air conditioner is not only more
energy efficient, but it will cool your room
approximately 40% quicker than
single-hose designs.

DUCTLESS
MINI SPLIT
AC
Ductless mini-split systems are
primarily air conditioning systems that
provide cooling to a single zone
(room) or more. Because it's cheaper
energy wise to cool only the rooms
you use most, these systems have
become very popular, as efficient
alternatives to central air.

5 CEILING
CASSETTE
AC
Ceiling cassettes allows for a more
aesthetically pleasing look for air
conditioning solutions. These units
have the unique advantage of being
able to be placed in the center of a
room and blow cool or warm air in
four different directions. A single
centrally-mounted ceiling cassette
can provide balanced cooling to an
entire room.

CENTRALIZE
D
ACa
Central air conditioning is
system in which air is cooled at
a central location and distributed to
and from rooms by one or more fans
and ductwork. The work of the air
conditioner compressor is what
makes the whole process of air
conditioning possible.

CENTRALIZED

PROS CONS
- Cools the whole - If not maintained
house can cause
- Can set different harmful
temperature in pollutants
different rooms - Expensive

8SOLAR HYBRID
AIR
CONDITIONER
The Solar Air Conditioning unit
works on a hybrid principle. It
absorbs solar energy to heat the
inside medium by utilizing a vacuum
solar collector therefore less power
is required from the mains in this
process, this, in turn, allows for
smaller compressors to be installed
that offer even better savings on
power consumption.
