Independent Project (for Arthur Anderson)
Study of the applicability of the Internet in Supply Chain Management in Indian Industries. This project
involved development of a methodology to identify industries where the Internet can significantly impact supply
chain management. It involved analysing the strategic imperatives for the players in these industries to meet the
changes brought about by the Net, and development of a proposition for these industries to create further value.
Relevant Project Work and Papers
• Development of a viable service offering for an On-line Supermarket in Ahmedabad. Studied the
consumer’s current purchasing behaviour and lifestyles to determine the benefits sought and the unmet
needs, because Indian consumers are not familiar with e-tailing and could not visualise and compare the
prospective offerings. These were then mapped back on to the servile offerings to determine the best one.
• Qualitative market research on consumer fragrance association profiles. This project for a leading
international fragrance manufacturer, involved development of a methodology for assessing consumer
associations with classes of fragrances. The methodology was then implemented and the collected data was
analysed to provide insights for the company's entry strategy into India.
• Industry analysis of the Indian Software Sector and the Computer Education Sector. This project involved
studying the major trends in these industries and the ways in which companies deliver value to consumers.
Further competitive strategies and value delivery systems were developed for selected players.
