MY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS
High school, just the word itself would make an ordinary elementary student excited. And
that’s what I felt when I first entered the school premises of Central Philippine University. I
mean who wouldn’t, everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that
I’m months away from graduating, I can’t say they were my best years but I can say they were
my most educational years, of course I wouldn’t say that they weren’t fun because they were.
When I say educational, I mean I’ve learned so much about myself and so much about life. I
learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All these events changed me,
and I’m glad they happened because I wouldn’t have learned all these lessons. My personality
hasn’t changed; I’m still a carefree girl, just with a little more wisdom and a lot more strength

I started off school feeling excited and nervous at the same time because my parents sent me to
a different school. They sent me to a school where I knew about two people, just my cousin and
my brother. It was really a challenge for me to be in a private school . To be honest, I would
rather study in the nearby town of our farm to start my freshman year.
At the school it was hard at first for me to adjust. I felt so alone. A lot of my new classmates
already knew each other, some were classmates or school mates from the nearby elementary
school. Introducing ourselves for the first time in class was really nerve wracking. I got so
scared, but after the first introduction for our first teacher and our adviser we were at ease then.
After that I made some friends slowly. I really can’t believe that I was a part of the Special
Science Class, I even thought that I failed during the exams and the interview because I was not
prepared for it. Throughout the end of my freshmen I already made a lot of friends and had some
best friends. During our Sophomore year I was glad that I still remained in the Special Science
Class. My Junior year was my greatest plot twist in my highschool life, I was crowned as the
Miss Junior Highschool 2017 and then I became fond of joining pageants.
Whether we truly enjoyed school or not, we all at some point anticipated its end and thought
graduation could not come soon enough. But, I’ve realized high school wasn’t just about the
building or the teachers. School is an experience that, since kindergarten, has defined me,
defined us all. These are the memories that have marked us as students and define how we have
spent the majority of our lives. But as we walk off the stage and say our good-byes, our identity
as junior high school students ends. We are left to choose our own future path and decide how
we will define ourselves.
Even though many of us are heading off to senior high school, and continuing our lives as
students, we must begin to think about our future because senior high school and college is an
opportunity to work towards our goals and gain the education necessary to follow our dreams.
So, when I chose my future path, I will choose the path that will bring me a sense of purpose,
fulfilment, pride, and most importantly, joy. As for me I want to become a lawyer someday, it
might be a tough job if you look at it first but the help that I would be offering to a lot of people
will surely lighten their burdens. Such a decision is not to be taken lightly, nor is it to be feared.
It is to be made with a clear vision of your future and the drive and excitement to see that your
vision is realized. No matter how you choose to define yourself, be sure to follow your passions
and make a decision that is entirely your own.

While our futures lie before us, waiting to unfold, one thing is certain I think the reason for me
enjoying the high school life would have to be that I was beginning to be mature in mind. I
started to deciding for myself a little. And I hope and pray that all of us would be following our
passions and fulfilling our dreams.
