‐ Cure Diseases and Relieves Pain
Muhamad N. Ikhsan
Bee Sting Therapy is one of the ancient methods of curing
diseases that are used to treat a variety of diseases by using bee
sting as a cure. It is considered as one of the most important part
of apitherapy which is used to treat many heath related
problems. Apitherapy uses products obtained from the hives of
bees such as honey and pollens, the jelly substance within
the bee hive and also the bee venom obtained from the sting of
bees. The method is used for treatment of various diseases such
as arthritis, back pain and rheumatism. Bee Sting is the prime
and most effective component in almost all treatments of
Apitherapy and hence it is also called as Bee Sting Therapy.
Bee venom is obtained from bees that store the venom at the sting of their back. The venom stored is usually
considered as a way of defense that the bees use to protect their bee hive. However, due to the effectiveness
of the venom in curing diseases and relieving pain, bee venom is extracted from bees and used as a medicine
in many medical therapies. Bee Sting Therapy is a method similar to acupuncture. Bee venom obtained from
bees is given in small doses to certain locations of the body which are often referred to as critical injecting
points, similar to acupuncture points. When these acupuncture sites are injected with bee stings The stings
work effectively to make the affected parts relieved of pain the fact that the venom has constituents of rich
quality enzymes and amines gives us a clear idea of how bee venom can be effective in curing diseases
Bee Sting Therapy is said to act effectively
Bee Sting Therapy is said to act effectively on the human body by modifying the immune system of the patient
and helping the victim to fight against pain and diseases. Primitive methods were to inject administer the bee
venom directly to one's body by enticing a group of bees to sting a part of the body.
The trigger points are often chosen and the bees are enticed to sting the part to inject the sting in a natural
and most effective way. However, there are creams and ointments that can be used as a substitute to the
crude method Injections are also available to directly infuse bee venom into the body of a victim.
In the treatment of disease using apitrapi in principle making the dots together with acupuncture or
acupressure or even refeleksi, the difference is the existence of bee venom which is input through
acupuncture points. The reaction caused rapid and strong, it is essential to know the nature of the power of
bee venom to be used, this involves the type of bee that is used, the number of stings, the nature of the point
to be stung and not least what is appropriate syndrome using bee sting , then the understanding of diagnosis
and therapy experience strongly support the successful use of this therapy.
Even on Acupuncture Therapy Conference to the World Bee Stings‐II in Nanjing, China, in mid‐September
1993, the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes apipungtur as an alternative treatment. Now, bee sting
therapy (BVT‐bee venom therapy) applied in about 12 countries, including China, Korea, Romania, Bulgaria,
and Russia.
In the book, "Bee Venom Therapy" as quoted in BeeOnline Susan Wilkinson, bee sting venom can cure arthritis
(rheumatoid arthritis). Based on research by Monmounth Pain of New Jersey, from 108 patients with arthritis
who were given bee sting venom therapy showed signs of improvement after 12 times of treatment (2 times
per week for 6 weeks). Then concluded that bee venom therapy is considered safe, effective, as long as the
patient is not allergic to bee sting venom.
n the United States, it is estimated there are about 4,000 people with MS (multiple sclerosis) are treated with
BVT. In Brazil, BVT is also used for asthma. In China, BVT is reported to treat neurological diseases, muscle
cramps, skin tumors, impotence, and nerve pain. Bee venom, according to Drs. Hartono HDW., A pharmacist, is
beneficial for rheumatism. In fact, it can also be used as a medicine outside (Intisari, April 1990).
Type of Bee
The honey bee is the bee family Apidae, genus or species of Apis. There are several types of Apis
sepesies famous among them:
1. Andreniformis or Apis indica, this is the original honey bees that are scattered throughout the
Indonesian archipelago. Often found dipemukiman or in the forests at an altitude of 500 m from the
sea surface.
2. Apis cerena, native honey bees spread from Asia to Afghanistan, China to Japan. This is an excellent
local bee the most widely farmed in Indonesia, with production up to 20 kg of flowers per season.
3. Apis dorsata, the only thing that honey bees can only live in tropical and sub‐tropical Asian continent
in particular.
4. Apis florae are the smallest species of honeybee in size than the other.
5. Apis koschevnikovi, a new honey bee species are known and already cultivated mainly in the areas of
Kalimantan and West Sumatra.
6. Apis laboriosa, is a type of honey bees yanga exist in the Himalayas.
7. Apis mellifera, is a type of honey bees delivered the most superior to others and most widely
cultivated throughout the world. Bees can produce up to 45 kg per spring, but unfortunately these
bees just like the flowers or the content of horticulture crops water content of about 18% this is an
obstacle to improving populitas and quality of honey produced.
Bee (Aphis) was known to a unique and dangerous insects. Sting on the back (tail) body can make our bodies
swollen, can even cause death in an instant when the sting of it goes into a person's body. But behind it all,
bees are very instrumental in the health world, such as treating neurological disease, muscle cramps, skin
tumors, impotence and nerve pain. Property to cure the disease obtained from some natural products like
honey bee, royal jelly and sting / bee venom.
Important things related to bees until now still being studied and developed. Method of use of bee products as
one form of treatment eventually led to apitherapy technique. The word comes from the APHIS aphiterapy
which means bee. This therapy has been known since ancient Egyptian times, about 1870 BC. It is known from
the writings of Papyrus Theban, about the habits of the Egyptians used honey for healing. There are five kinds
of products from the kingdom of bees used in aphiterapy, the bee venom, pollen, honey, royal jelly and
propolis. The five products contain substances that are useful to improve the vitality of the body.
Products Produced from Bees
1. Poison Bee (Bee Venom), having conducted medical research, proved that bee venom is effective
against various diseases such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Greatness poison
menggusu0r various diseases because of the content of active substances such as ADOLAPIN,
MELLLITIN, COMPOUND X and HYALURONAIDASE. These substances were inserted into the body
through the sting. In Bee Venom Threrapy, giving sting conducted according to the dosage‐controlled,
so the body will not be so swell
2. Pollen, pollen is usually recommended to be consumed as a nutritional athlete support personnel. In
apitherapy, pollen is used as a drug facilitating the metabolic processes. Consumed as food hygiene
3. Propolis is widely used as a drug because of its antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, antifugal and anti‐
inflammatory, allergy, expel ulcers, mild skin disease, cancer, infection, flu, bronchitis, ear disorders,
headaches, etc.
4. Honey contains sugar, vitamin B6, thiamine, riboflafin, pathogenic acid, calcium, copper, iron,
magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, amino acids and antioxidants, in
apitherapy, honey used is usually a crude
5. Royal Jelly shaped like milk, produced from salivary glands worker bees. Benefits, keep us from
fatigue. It also can reduce asthma and lower cholesterol levels in the blood, even used as a mixture of
cosmetic ingredients, especially cream leather fasteners
The five species of bee products in addition to bee stings or poison, is already widely used and tend not to
cause excess negatively affects a person's body. As with bee stings that can cause certain effects that can
potentially lead to metabolic disorders. The disorder is indeed depends on the condition / resilience of a
person's body, so we need to identify the prospective patient.
The content of Toxins and Poisons Workings of Bees:
Bee venom is a clear liquid with a sharp and bitter taste, smell fragrant and have reacted acid specific gravity
1.1313. Bees can consist of various biochemical composition is very complex and contain several biochemical
and pharmacological active substances such as histamine, dopamine, melittin apamin, peptide‐M, minimine
and enzyme phospsolipase A.
Able to dry out quickly at ordinary room temperature, and even can be effective and active as well as giving
real effect, not just react hyperemia on the skin surface, but also in the tissues deeper. Bees venom not be
impregnated by lenders such as the digestive tract lining, fermented saliva, stomach and intestine, thus do not
function and cause side effects if swallowed. This means that bees can be classified in colloidal group.
Bee sting is the penetration of foreign objects into the body, so naturally the body will fight it, that was driven
by antibody imunoglobin, namely IgM, IgD, IgA, and IgE. In the serum of patients with bee sting will be found
specific IgE, as well as IgG, which serves to neutralize toxins. Thus, IgG alleged role in the body's defense
against bee stings, otherwise known as an agent of immune response. Thus, the higher the frequency of
shocks, the higher a person's immune power. (Rye / Als)
According to Drs. Hartono HDW. a pharmacist, bee venom actually has the potential to treat rheumatic
diseases. In fact, it can also be used as an external medicine. With a bee sting, the skin around the red and
feels warm because of blood flow largely to the surface. Once absorbed into the body with the help of the
enzymes in the toxin, stimulated the pituitary gland to produce ACTH (Adrenal Hormone Corticotropic). This
hormone then stimulates the Adrenal Cortex to produce more hormone Cortisone. Cortisone is the hormone
which is very useful to eradicate rheumatic diseases. In addition, bee sting, as written in the Bee Online Susan
Wilkinson, a complex mixture of proteins (enzymes and peptides) that have a unique phamacological activity.
Enzymes (proteins that speed up chemical reactions in the body) in the major bee venom are hyaluronidase
and phospholipase A. Hyaluronidase break down hyaluronic acid (the fluid between cells) so that the toxins
more quickly spreads among the cells. Phospholipase A damaging phospholipids (major component of cell
membranes) and cause cell death. Two components contribute to the occurrence of allergic reactions because
of a bee sting so its use should be carefully and as instructed experts.
Overall bee sting venom composed of 40 components, namely: 11 peptides, 5 enzymes, 3 amines,
carbohydrates, fats and amino acids. Peptides that were most responsible is MELITTIN, APAMIN, MAST CELL
DEGRANULATING peptide, and ADOLAPIN. These substances act as anti‐inflammatory, antifungal,
antibacterial, antipyretic and stimulate ACTH. Also MELITTIN, APAMIN and peptide 401 have other roles as
well. MELITTIN and APAMIN stimulates the adrenal glands and pituitary gland to produce hormones cortisone
and STEROID, whereas 401 peptides serve as antigens. It could be an indirect treatment via penyengatan bees,
but by way of injecting poison sting bee preserved. In this way, according to Hembing, in addition to expensive,
its healing power is also reduced. Besides the effects of bee venom under the skin disuntukan not last long.

Clappers of bee sting therapy:
1. According to research nach Heinrich Mack bee sting venom give real effect on the treatment of
various diseases because hyperemianya power not only on the surface of the body, also on the body's
tissues deeper.
2. Sting stronger stimulus strength and duration of about 2 x 24 hours
3. Safely used for long‐term because it does not lead to enlargement of the pituitary gland or setback
(pituitary gland) or adrenaline. Bees venom also very influential in the nervous system and cardiac
nerves.
Bee Sting Reaction
Symptoms of a bee sting depends on the amount of venom injected. Honey bee sting can cause a burning
sensation reaction, itching followed by white swelling in the affected area stings, then changed to red and so
on disappear within a few hours.
For those who are hypersensitive to bee sting venom, once the sting can cause a serious reaction. Even can
also cause death, mainly due to a bee sting Apis dorsata and Apis mellifera Africa. The pain can last several
minutes to several days, depending on the point of shock. Finger tip and the tip of the nose is the most painful
point.
For those who are not hypersensitive, 1‐5 times a sting at once is not a problem. As written in BeeOnline
Mihaly Simicc titled "The Effect of Bee Sting on The Human Body". At most, felt a bit sore and warm, then the
skin to swell, redden, and itch.
Fifty to one hundred stings can cause seizures, shortness of breath while, the skin turns blue or pulse beats
fast, followed by temporary paralysis symptoms. Above two hundred stings cause respiratory system
disorders. However, there are reports 100‐300 can cause fatal shock. There is also resistant to 1,000 stings.
Indications:
1. Rheumatism because the effect of cortisol is hydrocortisone, histamine, andrenalina,
noradrenaline, cortisol increases circulation function so effective for the treatment of
rheumatism and rheumatodoarthritis.
2. Able to regulate the tension of tension and normalize the nervous system cerebal cortex activity
and increase heart muscle contraction, have special properties as an anti arrhythrnia.
3. "Poison Bees" could be used ntuk cardiovascular treatment failure, cardiogenic shoch or cardiac
function decline syndrome. Substance cardipep can bee is peptide activity on the heart to
increase heart muscle contraction, anthi arrhythma, normalizes heart function deterioration and
prevent damage to blood vessels.
4. The content can bee cytotoxin can inhibit the activity of tumor cells because they contain
melilitin and pshosphatidase microsom A2 which can dissolve and inhibit cell growth and damage
to the supply oxidase, is evidenced in the Cancer Research Center in Berlin (Germany). Melilitin
pharmacological function stems from the disruption of the cell that result in changes in
posphosphatidase and can inhibit the formation of thrombosplastin, atheselerosis prevent
thrombus and embolism.
5. Bee Venom Therapy In the book, as quoted in Susan Wilkinson Online Bee, bee sting venom can
cure arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis). Based on research by Monmounth Pain of New Jersey, from
108 patients with arthritis who were given bee sting venom showed signs of improvement after
12 times of treatment (2 times per week for 6 weeks). Then concluded that bee venom therapy is
considered safe, effective, as long as the patient is not allergic to bee sting venom. In the U.S., it
is estimated there are about 4,000 people with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) are treated with BVT. In
Brazil, BVT jiga used for asthma. In China BVT reported to treat neurological diseases, muscle
cramps, skin tumors, impotence, and nerve.
6. Another bee sting therapy for weight loss. For those who want to slim, in his opinion, there are
18 point shock from head to tail bone. If the patient can hold three stings at once, then simply
come to a "clinic bee sting" six times.
After given the therapy, the patient is advised to drink no drugs pharmacy that day. We recommend that
patients drink honey to counteract the poison bee sting. For the hot‐cold body because of shock, can also
drank green coconut water as an antidote. If every time stung arise allergy, therapy is not forwarded anymore.
Point Options:
For rheumatoid arthritis, who had studied advanced Hardiman apipungtur (combined bee sting therapy and
acupuncture) from the Japanese, the point is that stung area pivot. If seizures due to high uric acid, the point
of the sting is in the vein of rigid. To stress that stung the top of the head. Headache or neck, stung by the
temples.
"To head dizzy, just two points just shock," said Hardiman. A moment later sting is still attached at the neck
skin taken off. The points were the former shock knock‐knock softly and then use the tips of his oil smeared
wasps. Furthermore, to treat rheumatoid foot, he gave a shock to the three points at the foot of it.
"Patients with hypertension who stung the right neck and right shoulder‐left‐left. For those who have never
been stung by a bee, just two points on the shoulder of the sting. But if the patient was off balance, four
shocks can be given at once ‐ two points in the neck and two point on the shoulder, "explained the man who
did not attach rate for this treatment. Patients pay a voluntary replacement just died after bee sting it.
Against a paraplegic due to high blood pressure, he gave 268 shock therapy. Sting as much as it certainly was
not given all at once. "Three days to come. Every time came a few stings. There are fewer than a hundred
stings, the patient was able to walk without a cane. It takes patience. But there is also the first few times the
shock can not stand it," he said.
Contraindications:
• bee sting is not painful, swollen, and hot‐cold body. If the sting carried out at certain points by people
who "know", some diseases, like rheumatism, high blood pressure, asthma can be cured. But do not
try to sting if hiperalergi or suffering from complications of chronic heart failure, and liver, because it
can be fatal.
• If an empty stomach, patients who did not stand a bee sting will feel dizzy. There are also vomiting
• In patients with the condition of weak shock can make out, biduran, swelling at the site of pain and
pain mriyang / chills with fever.
Dose of Bee Sting Therapy:
• For new patients who had never received bee sting therapy, according to Hardiman, once a sting. The
next three to five days are given two shocks. Lapse of 4‐5 days, three times a sting. If it had not yet
recovered the next could be given 6‐10 sting gradually. "If the patient felt quite well and there are a
lot of progress, each stage can be expanded 10‐10 times the shock at the appropriate points tailored
to the circumstances of the disease," he said. Thus, the "dose" shock resistance in addition to
depending on the patient's body to poison sting, also depending on condition and type of illness.
• For initial therapy is usually given shock introduction to the location of the sick or acupuncture points
are selected a number of 2‐4 shocks, can also better but be safe with small doses until the first case
the reaction is not too hard.
• For mild cases fairly 4‐6 sting, but in patients with severe and complications with a strong body can be
given 25‐30 stings.
• In case of allergic skin reactions with the emergence biduran or red stripes that itch then it could be in
a massage or in the needle at the point of Colon 11. After the shock if symptoms develop fever then
multiply the drinking water can warm water or tea, but do not copy because it will worsen.
• Patients aged under ten years old are not acceptable, because not hold a bee sting
