Q.8 Write a Formal letter to the editor of any leading newspaper of your area telling him about the
troubles public face due to construction material dumped on roads by house builders. (10)

25-B Block,

Canal Park,

Jehlum.

25th November, 2014

The Editor,

The Daily News,

Lahore.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed paper I want to draw the attention of the city
District Government to the very serious problem of construction material dumped on roads by builders
in our city.
Construction material for under-construction commercial and residential buildings can be witnessed
scattered on roads at many places in the city, posing a threat to the lives of commuters.

Construction material such as sand, gravel, iron and bricks can be seen dumped on roads, shrinking the
space on the already congested city roads. Sadly, the administration has turned a blind eye towards this
problem, so people have no fear of law and keep such material on roads.

It is mandatory for a person to take permission from the MC by paying fee if he wants to dump such
material outside their building along the road. In reality, very few people pay fee and take permission
from the MC. This is all due to the apathetic attitude of MC officials.

It is high time that the authorities should wake up and take action as soon as possible.

Your faithfully,

Daniyal
