Main Missions have a set amount of experience for its first completetion and stays the same level
The same applies with discovering new areas.

Replaying missions in Story mode difficulty gives no additional experience. Hard difficulties will give experience on
every run. More experience will be given for harder modes.

All other activites scale to the player's level.

Level Ups:
(415,500 Experience needed)
Proficiency Caches are earned after each additional level up.
These crates grant one weapon and gear item that can drop gearscore pieces higher than the current world tier limit.
Additionally caches can drop one bonus item with the Field Proficiency Cache perk.
