Personal Philosophy Statement: 
 
Everyone has there own purpose of existence every individual has the power to control their own 
meaning for the life they have. Personally, I am able to ask myself what makes me happy because I 
think that happiness causes meaning. So what does make me happy? I think that connections are a 
key part of having a purpose in life. I know that when I am around other people who truly make me 
feel good and happy, that is when I feel a lot of meaning. Although the connection is important, it is 
not the only thing that plays into meaning. Having physical and mental well-being is also 
important. It is simple to wonder if happiness is the only thing we need in order to find meaning, 
we might believe that we need more than that and maybe we do. I am not sure if I have reached my 
full potential of meaning in my life but if happiness completely corresponds with meaning, then I 
understand what I need in order to have meaning.  
 
Happiness comes for me whenever I am doing things that I am not normally doing in my day to day 
life, things that are almost like treats for me. Things such as traveling and exploring or spending 
time with my family or friends having even just long conversations can make me feel good. 
Happiness for me does not need to come from something so big or crazy out of my comfort zone, 
happiness is the small things that I am able to do when I get a chance. For me personally taking a 
step out of my everyday life to do things that cause me joy. I also understand that if I didn’t have 
my normal day to day life I may not truly understand what it is that makes me happy.  
 
Project Proposal:  
 
For my project, I plan on creating a video that shows what my personal philosophy looks like 
through my eyes. I want to use a go pro and show what my day to day life looks like and why that 
may not be enough. Then, I want to show what a day filled with all of the things that make me feel 
happy and why it gives me meaning compared to my usual day to day life. While showing that I 
want to be explaining what my personal philosophy is and explain everything that plays into it. I 
want to show how the things that I am doing make me happy and everything it has to do with my 
existence. 
 
For all school exhibition, I would want to show my video. I think that my video may be unique 
because it is different from what I have learned about other peoples meanings from what we have 
learned throughout. I think the video will be unique cause I will be showing that what I spend most 
of my time doing does not give me meaning. The impression that I want to make on the audience 
at all school exhibition is inspiration to get out of the normal day to day routine and experience the

things you love because even just one day off to do things that make you happy can really change 
the way a person is feeling and show what that looks like.  
 
My goal for this project is to express the ways in which happiness is meaning and it comes from the 
things we are only able to do every once in a while. I want to audience to remember the inspiration 
that came with the video. For my video, I will create a well thought out script that includes 
inspiring things I have learned and know how and why I believe what I believe. I may encounter 
some obstacles during the project.  
 
One obstacle I might come across is making the video that best quality it can be. I may need to get 
help from a peer that is good at creating videos because I have not had a lot of practice with 
creating videos, but it is something I want to get better at. I will need a camera and iMovie to 
create this project I have the option to use a go pro as well which I may do. I think that this project 
will take some time to create, I want to make it to the best of my ability and I am planning on taking 
some time to create the video. I might need support from Sara just on the script and making it as 
inspirational as possible.
