**Installation Directions**

1. Back up your files by copying the AI3, Art, Data, and Startup folder and the
files loading1024y0.ddt, loading1024y1.ddt, loading1024y2.ddt, datapy.bar and
splashy.bmp to a safe location.
2. Copy the contents of the "Age of Empires III" folder to your game directory.
(C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III) (Replace the existing files)
3. To launch the game, run the popmodlauncher.exe (It would be a good idea to
create a desktop shortcut to this.)

That's it. It's installed!

If for some reason it does not work, please read this.

Open up the ZIP file you downloaded. In there, should be a folder. Copy the
contents of that folder to where Age of Empires III is installed. Age of Empires
III is usually installed in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III. It
will ask you to replace the existing files, click yes.

If it does not ask you to replace the existing files, then you are copying the
files to the wrong location. If it does ask you to replace the excising files, and
it still does not work. Then please insure that you are running the Asian
Dynasties, and have the War Chiefs installed. If it still fails, try re-downloading
the Mod, because it could be that your original download was corrupt.

To uninstall, delete the AI3, Art, Data, RM3, and Startup folder. Then replace them
with your backups. You made a backup right?

Name: Update Pack 5.0

Description: An update pack that adds many features, and changes to Age of Empires
3.

-Game-play
-Population limit is now 500
-Walls now make it harder to convert the buildings around them.
-The menu�s and loading screens now uses the Black UI.
-Fixed glitch where Ottoman�s could no longer train settlers after revolting.
-All Human units now heal slowly. This is to simulate the fact that people heal.
-Re-ordered units in Barracks since upgrades were not always in the right row.
-All civilizations can now build Transport Wagons.
-Flying Dutchman is added to the editor.
*-Includes the Black UI
-You can now capture your enemies buildings. This makes the game more realistic
since an attacking country would not destroy everything, instead they would take
what they could as their own. Non aggressive buildings (Livestock Pen, Mill,
Market, Church, Monastery, Sacred Field, Farm, Plantation, Fire pits, Houses,
Shrines, Saloons, Banks, Factorys, and Wonders) can be stolen from your enamie.
They convert to your team if you have more units by them than the opposing player
in the same way that sheep do. Buildings such as Outposts, and Castles will
prevent the enemie from converting your buildings. This makes them much more vitale
to defending your colony. If a building has special abilities, like wonders, you
will be able to use those abilities after you have taken that building
-Dead units take a minute to decay.
-Loading screen will be randomly chosen from different versions of the game.
-Player colors have been changed. (see screenshots to see the new colors)
-There is a new splash screen.
-Pregame cinematics have been removed.
-Population limit for all civilizations is now 250
-All builder limits have been removed.
-New techs and HC cards are available for all civilizations. (Designed by

-Home City shipments can be sent straight to your Explorer, War Chief or Monk.

-Buildings can be rotated before placement by using the scroll button on your
mouse.
-By default you are now zoomed out farther, and can zoom in more.

-Artificial Intelligence
-AI researches Piracy tech.
-AI builds Pirate Ships.
-AI researches the Westernize tech.
-AI upgrades walls.
-AI builds towers along the walls.
-Builds bigger armies.

-Glitch where AI does not always build gates is fixed.

-Buildings
-Gates can now be locked!
-Walls regenerate very slowly. The repair button is still useful since it repairs
your walls much much faster then the regeneration. This allows the AI to have their
walls repaired since this is automatic.
-Forts can now be built by European Explorer�s for 1200 Gold and 1000 Wood. They
also support 15 population. The build limit is 4.
-Field Hospitals can be built by European Explorer�s and Asian Monks. They cost 250
wood.
-Factories can be built by all European Civilizations.
-Banks can be built by all European Civilizations.
-Walls can be built over the trade routes. However if they are not converted to a
gate then they will be destroyed by the train.
-The European and Asian civilizations now have build-able fort walls.(Designed by
Lord_KillMS)
-Outpost build limit is now 20.
-British Manors can now be deleted (cost is now 165 wood)
-European civilizations can now build farms (along with mills). Farms cost 250
wood.

-Units
-All Human units now heal slowly. This is to simulate the fact that people heal.
-Pirate ships can train Smugglers, Pirates, Buccaneer Captains, Fugitives and
Parrots.
-Europeans can make Gatling Guns at the Fortress Age.
-The Americans(revolt nation) can create General Washington
-Europeans can make Drummers and Flag Bearers.
-Cows, Sheep, Llamas and Water Buffaloes can be trained from farms, mills and
livestock pens.
-Hot Air Balloons can be trained in the Factory. They can garrison 4 units. They
can only be attacked by ranged units.
-A new unit called the Entrepreneur can be built. Entrepreneur�s have a low attack.
They are rich citizens who can build, Town Centers, Banks, Factories, Trading
Posts, Forts, and Markets. They are allowed at the Industrial Age for 100 food and
100 gold.
-Surgeons can be trained in Field Hospitals for 200 food. They can also build Field
Hospitals.
-You can continue creating settlers, and fishing ships after revolting.
-The train and Stage coach now do damage!
-All Calvary units cost 2 population
-All Infantry, settlers cost 1 population
-Explorers, War Chiefs and Monks can now be garrisoned inside Town Centers.

-Cavalry now move in a wedge formation instead of an inverted wedge formation when

-Every military unit (including ships) can now patrol an area or guard another
unit. (Designed by Lord_KillMS)
-The build limit of ships has been doubled.

-Techs
-There is a new technology called Piracy research-able at the Town Center for
Europeans and Asians. It shows where all treasures are and allows Pirate Ships to
be made at the dock.
-There is a new tech called Westernize. This tech gives the Asian access to the
Entrepreneur, along with being able to build forts, factories and banks.

New maps from the fan patch are included.

Northern Lakes is a map with two adjacent lakes. The plentiful fish in the
lakes along with the central trade route gives players the opportunity to carry out
a wide variety of strategies.
Dakota Badlands is a map with a central arid valley, and features different
seasonal terrain. Players are encouraged to gain control of the center of the map
to utilise choke points and the bountiful resources in the valley. This map won
Ensemble RMS design competition some time ago.
Gold Rush takes much of its� design concept from the same map that was present
in Age of Empires 2. Each player starts with a limited gold supply, and this forces
them to rush as it were for the treasure trove of mines located centrally.
Korea sees players begin close together on the Korean peninsula, located along
the sides. Fishing is plentiful, but you have to pay close attention to land
warfare seeing as you start so close together.
New Unknown is not technically a new map � Unknown was present in TWC, but
Ensemble never updated it for TAD. Considering the numerous changes to this map, we
are treating it as a new map. It has TAD natives, TAD terrain skins, new terrain
formations, better resource balance, a fixed water flag bug, and more variability
in map size.
Prairie Rivers is a map designed for treaty gameplay. It is a rather diverse
map � although there is always just the 2 rivers, there can be anything from 1 to 4
crossings on each river. In addition, the terrain varies widely, so it should
always be a visual delight playing on this map.
Shangri La sees players begin in a barren patch of plateau, and are separated
from a valley by a sheer mountain range that can be traversed through a number of
mountain passes. Resources on the plateau are scarce, but the valley is packed with
plenty of resources.

New Map Sets included in the Fan Patch.

Competitive Maps: These maps should ensure the most fair and highly competitive
play experience.
Random Land Maps: These maps do not feature water as any kind of significant
play element, and should be ideal if you wish to avoid water fighting, or if you
are playing on a low-end computer.
Treaty Maps: These maps have been selected for providing the best possible
treaty experience.
Unique Maps: Unique Maps is a new map set for those who like playing on vastly
different and challenging maps every game. Every map requires a different approach
to gameplay, especially some of the new maps such as Gold Rush and Shangri La.
Regicide Maps: Ensemble promised that regicide would be a new game type in TAD
� and the assumption was that we�d be able to play regicide on any map. However,
all we got was a regicide version of Honshu, and as such we have put together a
number of new regicide maps to be placed in a new map set, Regicide Maps.
